Southside Market is celebrating ONE year of being open!

This milestone was made possible by the partners, community-based organizations, funders, owners, vendors, volunteers, and customers who believed in the vision for a community-owned neighborhood market.

Admission is free, and advance registration is requested.

🧡✨ RSVP through Eventbrite bit.ly/SSM-1YR

We cut the ribbon last year. Now we're planting the seeds for a thriving second year: rooted in community and growing through local partnership.

Look forward to seeing you there!

This month's member mingle is just around the corner. Come by anytime on Saturday, Sept 19th between 10am - noon to meet other owners, enjoy tastings, grab a coffee &/or shop!

You're gonna fall in LOVE with @goodrootgroveco (all over again) and taste the stark difference of locally grown tomatoes from @citadellegreenmountain vs store-bought. And if you're looking to stock up on snacks, we have a new product tasting from @popdaddysnacks. It's gonna be a fun time!

Bonus: If you stay longer or swing by in the afternoon, you'll have first dibs on a new harvest from Citadelle Green Mtn.

This is a fun, casual opportunity; not a formal meeting. Pop in when you can.

Hope to see you here! 🧡☕🥕✨

Literally the best tomatoes I think I’ve ever had. Picked fresh from @citadellegreenmountain this morning and purchased at @chisouthsidemarket in the afternoon! There was a whole pound of the amazing grape and cherry tomatoes but this was all the was left when I remembered to take a picture. I also got some spicy peppers to use in my upcoming #FireCider. #FarmFresh #UrbanFarming #Yum #OwnershipHasItsPrivleges

I learned at the Wisconsin-Madison field day that our contributions to hemp compliancy research have influenced policy! The Sokaogon Chippewa Community have submitted an approved hemp plan that reduces the need for compliance testing when using compliant cultivars outlined in the Midwestern Hemp Database. A special shout out to Dr. Philip Alberti and Dr. Shelby Ellison at Ellison Lab at University Wisconsin-Madison for conducting this important research along with collaborating universities, and all of the hemp farmers that helped contribute data to make this possible.

Gratitude fills our hearts after such a powerful International Women’s Day gathering at Chicago Theater Works this past Sunday.

Thank you to our incredible sponsors, vendors, and the entire Goddess Portal team for bringing your energy, generosity, and dedication to this experience. Because of you, the space came alive with connection, healing, and sisterhood.

A very special thank you to Nick Ramos for opening the doors of Chicago Theater Works and allowing us to hold space for such an extraordinary circle of women. And heartfelt appreciation to the amazing theater staff—especially Pablo—for your care and support behind the scenes.

Deep gratitude to our speakers who shared their wisdom so generously, and a very special shoutout to our phenomenal Emcee, Dr. Tanjie Brewer, who guided the entire day with grace, power, and presence.

When women gather with intention, something truly magical happens.

International Women’s Day — Return to the Roots
📍 Chicago Theater Works
📅 March 8

There are moments when women gather and something ancient awakens.

On International Women’s Day, we come together not merely to celebrate, but to return to the roots—to the lineage of women whose wisdom still circulates through our breath, our bodies, our stories.

This gathering is designed as a living ritual of restoration, creativity, and collective remembrance.

Throughout the day you will experience:

• Nourishing ancestral foods prepared to ground and replenish
• A Cacao Ceremony to open the heart and set intention
• Yoga and Breathwork to regulate the nervous system and reconnect with the body
• Somatic Dance to release stored emotion and awaken primal movement
• Live Art unfolding in real time as a visual expression of the feminine spirit
• Speakers and storytellers sharing insight, resilience, and transformation

This is a space of embodiment, dialogue, and renewal—where healing practices, creativity, and community converge.

If you feel the quiet call to reconnect with the wisdom of those who came before you, this gathering awaits.

Come celebrate.
Come restore.
Come remember who you are. 🌿✨

Participated in a little storytelling today. Thank you to all who made it happen!

P.s. yes I'm a diva and requested something to put my feet up on while in that big ol' chair 😅
