We’re so grateful to @angelinajolie, one of the producers of @outsidersmusical for helping bring this extraordinary production to Los Angeles @hollywoodpantagestheatre — and for using its arrival to help make theatre more accessible to the next generation of theatergoers. Last week, alongside @octaviaspencer, The Stay Gold Project, & @cityyearla, Ms. Jolie co-hosted a Hollywood fundraiser, invited 35 students from Pio Pico Middle School to experience the first performance of THE OUTSIDERS, and hosted a post-show talk back with members of the National Touring Production.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these moment possible — and to the artists, educators, mentors and advocates who continue to make sure young people have a place in the audience. Thank you for helping us #StayGold. 💛

There is something incredibly powerful about giving a young person the opportunity to see themselves in a story, and even more powerful when we remind them that they get to write their own.

I was honored to join @angelinajolie, @outsidersmusical, and @cityyearla to bring 35 incredible students from Pio Pico Middle School to see The Outsiders at the Pantages. For some, it was their first experience seeing a live play.

I’ve been fortunate to have educators and mentors who saw something in me before I could fully see it in myself. That kind of encouragement can change the trajectory of a life.

That’s why I’m asking you to join me in supporting the incredible work of The Stay Gold Project and City Year.

If you’re able, please click the two links in my bio to donate to both organizations and help create more opportunities for young people to discover their voice, imagine what’s possible and believe in their own story.

Thank you for helping us give the next generation a chance to stay gold 💛

Earlier this month, Board Member Ortiz Franklin attended @cityyearla Back to Service Celebration to join our community to welcome 170 new AmeriCorps to begin a year of service in our schools across LAUSD. As a former AmeriCorps member herself, she shared her personal experience, celebrated the impact of AmeriCorps in our schools, and joined the new members in reciting the AmeriCorps pledge to begin their year of service. Thank you @cityyearla for the invitation. It was a wonderful evening and so nice to be part of it! 💛

This time, sharing my story as an artist/creative. Thank you, @voyagelamag_mike , for this second opportunity 🙏🏽

A huge thank you to our incredible City Year team for hosting a fun and memorable end-of-year celebration for our Sutter staff! 🎉

From the games and delicious food to the laughter and camaraderie, it was a wonderful way to celebrate a successful year of partnership. Throughout the year, City Year members have supported our students in classrooms, contributed to schoolwide programs, and become valued members of the Sutter family. We are grateful not only for this special event, but also for their dedication, service, and positive impact on our school community all year long. 💙💛 @cityyearla
