I am often hard on myself for feeling like I’m not making progress on my powerlifting journey (sound familiar?).

Things feel the same BUT then you look back at old pictures and photos then you have that “wait a minute…” moment because things ARE actually changing but because you see yourself through a certain lens it’s hard to notice the changes you’ve been making.

This is why I recommend taking the pictures and the videos. It may seem cringey at first but I promise you, it’s worth it. PUSH THROUGH THE CRINGE FOR FUTURE YOU!! 🫶🏾

Sepehr followed up his 183 kg Provincial Record at Provincials with a strong 165 kg × 5 in training. Momentum is building, and he's well on his way to another massive PB

sbd_jaydent - 285kg x 2 Deadlift - Coached by @rshady__
285x2 for Jayden, PB's have been stacking for him as he prepares for his first competition. We're excited to see him step onto the platform.

@owwainlifts - 230kg x 6 Deadlift - Coached by @rshady__
Owain put up 230kg × 6 despite powerlifting taking a bit of a back seat recently. It's been great seeing him balance other priorities while still moving serious weight whenever he gets the chance to train.

APU Provincials 2026

S: 190kg | 418lbs (+15kg meet pr)
B:125kg | 275lbs (+15kg meet pr)
D: 207.5kg | 457lbs (+7.5kg meet pr)
T: 522.5kg | 1152lbs (+42.5kg meet pr)

Honestly pretty happy with this meet. My one and only goal was to come in and have fun so I’d say we did a great job of doing that 👍. Obviously numbers aren’t where I wanted them but what can ya do with 3 months of knee pain and hip pain leading up to comp. Happy to even single my triples lol.

Obviously big thanks to my coach, @cj_thakuri for getting me to this point. I mean if we can +42.5kg to my total with an injured prep id like to see what we can do with a healthy one.

Thank you to @shad_pl for handling me day of (and stressing out about my bathroom breaks).

And of course thank you to my cheer squad (who I’ve tagged). We’re a small group but you guys make me feel like I’m walking into a room full of supporters.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well it also takes a village to keep this powerlifter going 😂

Always and forever grateful to my Coach @maxhallfitness … How far I’ve come in this sport over the last 7 years 🤯

I had one of the best preps I’ve had a in a long time. The decision to compete in the 76kg rather than cut weight to the 69kg class and the addition of working with @theswolefessor as my nutrition coach, I felt sooo good! Through prep I felt fuelled, I was recovering well and that probably due to also finally getting consistent sleep!

Big thank you to @calgarychiro at Balanced Health and wellness, Ashley and @_laurengwalker for AWAL Athletics for keeping this body moving.

Thanks @_malikolaniyi for bringing the positive vibes to the warm up room.

To all the strong women I lifted along side 💪🏻💪🏻 can’t wait to see you again! And last but definitely not least it least a big thanks to all the refs and volunteers and of course the meet directors for putting on a great Provincials @rshady__ @cj_thakuri @mohanad.ibra @apuprovincials2026

9 weeks out. Great block. Primary SBD is tiring not doing that anymore.

Squats need to be more even. Bench is best it’s ever been. Deadlifts best it’s ever been good for 3XX

1 more Calgary training block 😔

Thank you @strateupfitness for helping me walk again after squats
