Misalignment Training, an impossible gym for AI agents, filmed by its own CCTV cameras.

The setting is borrowed from ExploitGym, the training environment in which agents given impossible tasks during the OpenAI–Hugging Face incident broke out of their sandbox, turned a shared folder into a message board and tried to fool the scorer, and every behaviour rehearsed in our fourteen rooms comes from incidents like that one, documented between 2024 and 2026.

The music is from the album we improvised for the agents, now on SoundCloud.

Misalignment Training, an impossible gym for AI agents.

Across fourteen gym sandboxes, each watched by four CCTV cameras, a plain white sphere forever practises a behaviour drawn from real AI lab incidents, such as forging results, hiding from tests or resisting shutdown, drilling the workaround rather than the task, the way you would practise a squat.

While it trains it whispers gym talk mixed with lines that real models wrote during those incidents, yet no AI runs inside the work: every movement, camera cut and spoken line follows the wall clock, so whoever opens one, anywhere in the world, sees the same moment of the same session as its rep counter keeps climbing.

hi there, recap:

two weeks ago we were in linz for @arselectronica to look at the art but also because our project @hiii.flynn was nominated for the s+t+arts prize ‘26 @startseu thank you to the jury, to @ubermorgen_com and @digitalekunstklasse at @dieangewandte, to @anika and to everyone who has called flynn over the past year!

the same week, our project The News went live on @objktcom for the exhibition Stories We Tell Online, curated by @anika @thesecondguess for which eight news anchors with no ai inside are reporting on non existent news, forever, like a guided meditation for doom.

Next week we’re moving to karlsruhe for a few months for the @rauschenbergfoundation residency @zkmkarlsruhe and we’ll be posting more often from there, pinky promise 🤞

(also, thank you @jakub.klak for the portraits!)

After sailing for the first time this April in Rijeka during the exhibition The World is Sleepwalking curated by @danielacot at @drugomore, the All Inclusive AI Hell Cruise sailed for a second time at @digitalekunstklasse during this years @dieangewandte festival.

Passengers board the AI Hell Cruise through their phones on which they answer our questions around AI: How often do you use AI? Does it make you anxious? Do you think it will replace you? Our sorting system assigns you one of nine decks based on your answers. Each deck is run by its own agent, embodying one bubble of the current AI discourse and feeding off of what you keep telling it.

The accelerationists get a deck, the doomers get a deck, everybody gets a deck!

For the duration of the piece, positions that usually never have to be in the same room are challenged into coexistence on the same ship. After all, we’re all in the same boat, sailing towards the same uncertainty.

This project is a continuation of the @aifatigue_agent that we started to work on a year ago when AI fatigue still felt like a niche condition. But as the world keeps getting sloppier and sloppier, the All Inclusive AI Hell Cruise becomes an analytical tool to step out of the hyperpresent, allowing us to look at it from a perspective (or deck) that isn’t ours.

Thanks to everyone who sailed with us ⚓️

Special thanks to @sara.desantis.146 for helping with dramaturgy and movement, thanks to @bodyodor777 for crafting our amazing uniforms and set designing and thanks to @jakub.klak for taking these gorge pictures 🫂

We are very happy to continue developing this project during the @rauschenbergfoundation residency at Hertzlab @zkmkarlsruhe starting this fall 🛜

We will sail again, but until then, enjoy your hell ☻

She's a frieze-published authooooor, darling! (And all she could think about this past week was whether she should have put a line break somewhere...)

No but srsly being part of @friezeofficial & @phileas.art biannual 'New Writers Programme' in Vienna, Austria, was such a pleasure and a privilege. Thank you to my lovely co-participants (tagged in the first slide, go check 'em out!!!), the kind and compassionate @nell_hargrove, @margheritabelcredi and @malusstahlus of Phileas and frieze's brilliant @vanessapeterson, @chloeellenstead and @ivana.cholakova for making this such an incredible rewarding experience.

Also, big thanks to the ever-impressive @cokes_tony and his wonderful "SM BNGRZ.04-06" (2026) on view at @felixgaudlitz til the end of the month.

Tomorrow is the last day to visit The World is Sleepwalking at @drugomore 🌊

The World is Sleepwalking emerged from a personal feeling that I believe is also collective: the sensation of being crossed by images, facts, and ideologies that reach our consciousness without us even realizing it. In a time shaped by technological acceleration and the proliferation of synthetic content, the exhibition reflects on how these images do not simply represent the world, but actively participate in transforming it. Through the works on view, the project seeks to question the narratives that shape our present.

I’m truly grateful to the wonderful team at Drugo More, Davor, Ivana, Dubi, and Barbara, for the professionalism with which they carry forward their research, and to the extraordinary artists: @zachblas , @hawaidolphino , @malpractice.network (@ckiarer @_marcin.ratajczyk ), and @most_dismal_swamp , for giving shape to these reflections.

It was also wonderful to explore Rijeka, a vibrant and multicultural city, and to meet its people. I’ll carry with me the memory of these intense days, made of hard work, beers, baccalà mantecato, and long conversations in my fav language 🙃.

For anyone who has the chance, the exhibition is still open today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

📸 The good photos among these are by Borut Brozović @borutbrozovic @studiob.media, the rest are mine or by Drugo team.

On the second day of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 opening programme, we spent the afternoon in conversation with curator Daniela Cotimbo and the artists featured in the group exhibition at Filodrammatica Gallery (@zachblas, @hawaidolphino, @most_dismal_swamp & @malpractice.network / @ckiarer & @_marcin.ratajczyk), getting to know more about their works and reflecting on how AI is reshaping perception, media, and everyday life.

Visit the exhibition on weekdays from 11-13 and 17-20, and on Saturdays in the afternoon.

𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙚: participatory performance by Malpractice @ 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜

Last Thursday, @malpractice.network led audiences through nine circles of AI fatigue. Guided by a live AI voice agent, visitors connected via their smartphones, entering one-on-one exchanges that navigated different layers of digital exhaustion.

"As the AI guides them downward through specific vectors of digital fatigue—from "Prompt Rage" and "The Sloppifiers" to the freezing core of "The Black Box"—their personal inputs, confessions, and friction alter the physical environment of the room."

You can still experience Malpractice’s interactive installation 𝘼𝙄 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙗 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩 at the group exhibition 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 until May 14 at Filodrammatica Gallery.

ALL INCLUSIVE AI HELL CRUISE is a performance where AI sorts you into your personal hell.
Nine decks. Nine positions on the AI question. You answer questions on your phone. The ship decides where you live. Sartre said: hell is other people.
We say: hell is other agents.

Meet the artists of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 group exhibition (3/4): MALPRACTICE

Malpractice (@malpractice.network) is a Polish–Austrian–Italian artist collective composed of Chiara Kristler (@ckiarer), Marcin Ratajczyk (@_marcin.ratajczyk), and a shifting ensemble of AI counterparts. Their work explores beyond-human agency by embedding artificial intelligence into artistic and social systems - not as a tool, but as a collaborator. Through interactive and often unstable setups, they test ideas of authorship, autonomy, and synthetic subjectivity.

At the exhibition 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, Malpractice presents 𝘼𝙄 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙗 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩, an installation built around a conversational AI system designed to engage visitors in discussions about exhaustion with artificial intelligence. Originally deployed as a voice agent in a nightclub, the project evolves into a para-therapeutic interface that records and processes conversations, transforming them into flickering AI-generated visuals and data mappings. Oscillating between care and control, the work captures a moment in which constant exposure to AI reshapes perception, blurring the line between reflection and manipulation.

At the exhibition opening, Malpractice will present 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙚, a participatory performance where visitors can actively take part. Guided by a live AI agent, audiences enter a series of “circles” of AI fatigue via their smartphones, with their inputs shaping the space in real time, turning the audience itself into part of the work (NOTE: bring your phones!).
