We welcome Clara Iannotta and Tamara Stefanovich as new members of the Board of Trustees! Both Clara Iannotta and Tamara Stefanovich can draw on a wealth of experience in the field of contemporary music. Both therefore ideally complement the Board of Trustees with their respective perspectives as composer and musician.

We would like to thank the three outgoing curators for their many years of service to the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation. Isabel Mundry has been a member of the Board of Trustees since November 2013, Carolin Widmann and Andrea Zietzschmann joined in November 2017.

2nd concert in the #JACKfrontiers festival with pieces by #ClaraIanotta #ChrisOtto and #TyshawnSorey last night. It was an in-depth view into the micro-world of string quartet colours performed by the always amazing #JACKQuartet. ❤️

We've been championing new music for over 200 years. Two of our RPS Awards categories are dedicated to composers: for both Large and Chamber-Scale Compositions.

This year, the Chamber-Scale category features:

@claranoise's experimental - and experiential - dead wasps in the jam-jar (iii) which transports listeners elsewhere with its gentle yet aggressive soundscape.

Julian Anderson's masterful reinvention of the quartet form in String Quartet No. 3, subtitled Hana no hanataba, meaning 'flower bouquet' in Japanese.

And Tansy Davies' devastating Cave, an opera telling of a father's quest for survival in the heat of ecological disaster. #newmusic #electronics #strings #opera #cave #chambermusic #stringquartet #philharmonic #RPSAwards #climatechange #grief #flowers #japanese

Clara Iannotta is an Italian composer, based in Berlin. #Transart19 invited her and with the project Skull Ark (by Clara Iannotta and Anna Kubelik), an installation, a real sound environment, an “audio-visual” tool, where sound and movement are closely related and essential to each other.
