Today's Featured Film of the Day is "Kind Mother," directed by Clare O’Connor. An estranged mother arrives at the silent retreat that her daughter is attending. When the two women engage in an unusual – and fantastical– power struggle, limits are tested, generational trauma is brought to light, and together they must grapple with mortality and forgiveness.

“Kind Mother” will be shown on Saturday, August 8th at 12:15 pm in the We Are Family block at The Roxy Theater.

Tickets can be purchased at: https://filmfreeway.com/WestSoundFilmFestival/tickets

Very honored to announce that we’re an Official Selection at the International Sound and Film Music Festival in Varaždin, Croatia! @isfmf_dreamaker Not only that, but we are actually nominated for Best Original Score in the Short Film Category! The festival runs May 21-24.

Excited to highlight our beautiful Original Score by composers Adam Robl and Shawn Sutta at @audiocastle_studios and also our incredible Sound Design by @adamlorencarl at this festival that honors achievements in sound and music in film. Both the score and the sound design are critical in KIND MOTHER, since silence/sound/music help tell the story in a big way.

Very thrilled that we got accepted, let alone nominated, and I noticed on their website that we’re in good company (an understatement): in our sister category, the Best Original Score for Feature Films, there are many recognizable titles that I adore from last year, like TRAIN DREAMS (with score composed by Bryce Dessner) and HAMNET (composed by Max Richter), to name a couple. Holy Moly! You can check out the full nominees list on the festival’s website. #kindmotherfilm #filmfestival #croatia
