Cozy reading season is upon us.

There’s plenty of good books to choose from to set your worries aside and step into a far-off fantasy world or an engrossing memoir, including a buzzy new memoir from Sylvester Stallone and a posthumous book of life lessons from Gloria Steinem.

Or pick out one of this fall’s biggest fiction titles, like a new Fourth Wing installment and new stories from “Lessons in Chemistry” author Bonnie Garmus and the world of Percy Jackson.

Whatever you’re craving, USA TODAY's @claremmulroy has recommendations as daylight saving time ends and the temperature starts dropping.

Happiest of launch days to Fiona Davis and her SAMANTHA: The Next Chapter! Fiona was In Conversation tonight at Barnes & Noble Upper West Side with USA Today Books Editor Clare Mulroy before a packed house of enthusiastic fans and readers! So much fun learning about Fiona’s process as she brought the beloved and iconic American Girl character into the year 1920 as a young woman living in New York City. I had the privilege of reading an advanced copy of this gorgeous novel for a cover quote and you can swipe to see what I had to say. And keep swiping for a bonus celeb sighting in the audience! So thrilled to finally meet the one and only Victoria Christopher Murray in person! What a special night! There was even a cookie! Congrats Fiona and your Samantha! ♥️♥️

Clare and Sean’s wedding on the Cape happened in that magic in between time, where the summer’s heat is almost gone and hydrangeas have faded to their September pink before the cold sets in. Having both grown up on the Cape, these two found it made sense to return there for their wedding that featured florals arranged by Clare’s sister, hand-embroidered place settings by Clare’s grandmother, and officiating by the same high school theatre teacher that first introduced them as teenagers. Through the efforts of the greater community Clare and Sean have cultivated as adults, their wedding day felt like the inevitable result of over a decade of shared history and celebrating it in a place so comfortable, so familiar for them and their people was the perfect close to our summer season.

Is posthumous publishing ethical? 📚️ New books from late authors Stan and Jan Berenstain, Theodor Geisel, and Leo Lionni are returning beloved characters to bookshelves for a new generation.

For some, posthumous publishing is a way to preserve an author's legacy. Others say it's signaling hard times for the book world.

At the link in our bio, we sat down with industry experts and publishers to hear their perspectives on #posthumouspublishing.
