We can’t wait to introduce you to SONIC BOTANICA

A very cool installation is arriving to the immersive room in Harder Hall next week at Alfred.

With visuals curated by Spanish students and music composed by music students, plants are going to be performing for you!

How does it work? Dr Homar and his class created a device that allows to translate the energy from plants into music. We will have a plant quartet connected to electrodes that are going to be producing music as we watch amazing microscopic photography depicting the internal anatomy of sacred plants from South America.

Spanish students are going to be working as guide tours and teaching you all about amazing plants. We will have a food reception and poetry reading on Thursday 29 at 5 pm

You cannot miss this!

Event sponsored by Poder Latino Club, Catalyst Award, SoAD and CLAS

Today, Western and Dressage senior @emily_peluso123 tagged along with Coach Adam to observe an appointment at the Cornell Equine Hospital. Emily is working towards a degree in Biology with a Pre-Veterinary Health Advising track. She is applying for veterinary school this Fall with a goal of a career as an equine veterinarian.

Emily shares that “riding along with AUEQ and witnessing the professionalism, diligence, and knowledge of the veterinarians and faculty at Cornell has been a rewarding experience. I am grateful for the opportunities on the AU equestrian team to grow my knowledge in the equine industry!” 💜

Thank you Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Lemus for this amazing learning moment!

🎃🐎 A strange rider has come over the hills and found his way to the Alfred University Equestrian Center with a warning…

🌙 The woods are stirring.
🕯️ The witches are waiting.
👻 And the horses aren’t the only things you might hear in the dark…

That must mean that the Alfred University Equestrian Center Haunted Hayride is coming! 🎃💜

Climb aboard… if you dare. But keep your eyes on the tree line—and whatever you do, don’t lose your head. 🐎💀
