Dolly Parton performing “9 to 5” live in 1983.

Watching this hits differently now.

That voice, that energy, that effortless stage presence. One of those performances that reminds you why she became a legend.

A little piece of music history.

"Set The Controls for The Heart of The Sun"
(Roger Waters)
Álbum "A Saucerful Of Secrets" / 1968
Pink Floyd

Pouco a pouco a noite retorna
Contando as folhas que tremem ao amanhecer
As flores-de-lótus se apoiam umas nas outras desejando
Sob os beirais a andorinha está descansando
Ajuste os controles para o coração do Sol

Sobre a montanha observando o observador
Rompendo a escuridão
Despertando a videira
Conhecer o amor é conhecer a sombra

O coração do Sol, o coração do Sol

"Set The Controls for the Heart of the Sun"
(Roger Waters)
Álbum "A Saucerful Of Secrets" / 1968
Pink Floyd

Little by little the night turns around
Counting the leaves which tremble at dawn
Lotuses lean on each other in yearning
Under the eaves the swallow is resting
Set the controls for the heart of the Sun

Over the mountain watching the watcher
Breaking the darkness
Waking the grapevine
One inch of love is one inch of shadow
Love is the shadow that ripens the wine
Set the controls for the heart of the Sun

Witness the man who raves at the wall
Making the shape of his questions to Heaven
Whether the Sun will fall in the evening
Will he remember the lesson of giving
Set the controls for the heart of the Sun

The heart of the Sun, the heart of the Sun

🍊Happy Summer & Happy Muzak Monday🍊 Here is a delicious taste of Tangerine by the legendary Led Zeppelin! This is one of my favorite songs to play, especially playing the epic Jimmy Page solo on my lap steel!

Please give it a listen (or a lick) and let me know what you think. This song always reminds me of summer, so I had to repost it now that summer is in full bloom🍊Thank you so much🍊

"Chapter 24"
(Syd Barrett)
Álbum "The Piper at The Gates of Dawn" / 1967
Pink Floyd

A movement is accomplished in six stages
And the seventh brings return
The seven is the number of the young light
It forms when darkness is increased by one
Change returns success
Going and coming without error
Action brings good fortune
Sunset

The time is with the month of winter solstice
When the change is due to come
Thunder in the other course of heaven
Things cannot be destroyed once and for all
Change returns success
Going and coming without error
Action brings good fortune
Sunset, sunrise

A movement is accomplished in six stages
And the seventh brings return
The seven is the number of the young light
It forms when darkness is increased by one
Change returns success
Going and coming without error
Action brings good fortune
Sunset, sunrise

Você sabe que seria falso
Você sabe que eu seria um mentiroso
Se eu dissesse para você
Garota, não poderíamos ficar mais chapados

Venha, querida, acenda meu fogo
Venha, querida, acenda meu fogo
Tente incendiar a noite

O momento de hesitar já passou
Não há tempo para ficarmos enrolando
Tente agora, nós só podemos perder
E nosso amor se torna uma pira funerária

Venha, querida, acenda meu fogo
Venha, querida, acenda meu fogo
Tente incendiar a noite, sim

O momento de hesitar já passou
Não há tempo para ficarmos enrolando
Tente agora, nós só podemos perder
E nosso amor se torna uma pira funerária

Venha, querida, acenda meu fogo

Álbum "The Doors" / 1967
The Doors

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre

Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
