The calm before a conversation we'll be talking about for a long time.

Former Vice President Kamala Harris joined us at Storehouse & Friends, and she held nothing back.

Watch the full conversation on our YouTube channel 🔗 Link in bio.

If you could ask her one question, what would it be? Drop it below. 👇🏾

Random August dump.

No storyline.
No chronological order.
No explanation for half of these pictures. 😂

Just evidence that August treated me VERY well.

I celebrated another trip around the sun, spent time with people I love, made some memories I didn’t know I needed, laughed until my stomach hurt, looked good a few times if I do say so myself 😌, and found plenty of reasons to be grateful.

The older I get, the more I realize these are the days you end up wishing you could visit again someday.

So I’m learning to enjoy them while they’re here.

That being said…

September, please understand you are following a strong performance.

Come prepared. 😂🥂

Left #NABJ26 with a full cup. 🥛 Thank you to everyone who poured into me — through laughter, hugs, and words of encouragement. Going into the convention, I had been dealing with vertigo and was recovering from a mild concussion … but as each day went on, the symptoms dissipated. Hanging with co-workers and colleagues literally revived me! 👭🏽

I’m inspired to be better, do more and lock in on the gifts God has given me.

I love y’all! ♥️

Houston is on the clock. ⏰ We can’t wait to see y’all August 2027. 🤘🏽

The Newsmaker Plenary was great! Heard from @repjeffries, @nikolehannahjones, @attorneycrump, @realalesharpton, Nolan Wells’ parents and more.

Whew! Wore myself out going to back-to-back receptions. One for my talent agency, one for THE Missouri School of Journalism, and one for my company (ABC)

Made it to the ABC talent reel!

One of my Mizzou boos. I love you @iamalexisrogers!

Another Mizzou boo. I love you @_ariannap!

Always cuttin’ up with these two.

There are very few Black male anchors in the country. Here are a few of them … who gave amazing insight and advice. Fun fact. Been knowing Wale (far left) since I was 18. He was one of the first people I met freshmen year of college. We went through the @mujschool together. 🐯

This weekend I was proud to represent both Duval and St John’s County at Leadership Blue this weekend!

It was great to connect and meet with other people and candidates passionate about the environment, politics, policy, institutions, and representing the people of Florida in the best way we can.

Now it’s time to lock in 🔒 and win this Primary!

Honored to join leaders, advocates, and community champions at the Florida Legislative Black Caucus #EmeraldStandard Gala in Tallahassee. Being in rooms like this reminds me that the fight for Florida’s future is collective, and urgent. Our state is stronger when courageous people stand up, speak out, and build the future our communities deserve.

A special shout-out to those who have helped me navigate and access spaces like these. Your belief in developing future leaders matters more than ever, and it makes clear that progress only happens when people are willing to invest in who comes next. 💚

Thank you to State Rep. Rashon Young and Sen. Bracy Davis for introducing the Harry T. And Harry V. Moore Florida Voting Rights Act. If it had passed it would have reversed years of damage caused by mounting voter suppression bills signed into law in this state. Instead Florida legislators chose once again to stand on the wrong side of history.

We will remember this day.

This week I was thankful to have a chance to attend the Florida League of Cities (#FLC) Days at the Capitol. The League of cities brings together municipal government representatives from all of the Towns & Cities in the state, helping us to work through all of proposed legislation for this session through a lens of how it will affect us on a local level. Now, more than ever, it's vital that we ALL know what's going on and how legislation that's on the docket for session will affect us locally. The 8 different proposed property tax bills each WILL have a significant affect on small towns like Greenville and ALL of Madison County. I urge every person to look at the affects of this on the services that are afforded to you and our neighbors through local government. Thank you so much to our State Rep. Allison Tant & her Team for their continued support for issues like this and recognizing the impacts that they could have on rural communities like ours. Thank you to Rep. Gallop Franklin for taking a moment to chat with our League of Cities Group on how many of these issues affect us. I would be remissed to say that opportunities like this also provide a space for something that many of us often don't get, and thats dialogue and comradery with colleagues who are leading towns and cities across the state. It's so refreshing to know that we are not alone in our struggles, in our fight, and in our unwavering compassion for a better day for each of our municipalities. It was a blessing to reunite with great friends like @nancymetayerbowen , Vice-Mayor of the City of Coral Springs (& a fellow #FAMU Alum). Thank you, Nancy for always encouraging me to step outside of my box and for the amazing networks that you share. Then there's people like @classnsasskay , another #FAMU alum, who continues to lend her voice in the fight. It's a blessing to have good people to be on this journey with. The work continues and it's up to all of us to let our voices be heard and share how our communities and our people will be affected by the work done in Tallahassee. Thank you to all of the Legialature for the hard work you continue to do. Praying for GREATER & Better Days ahead.

Thank you to the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s South Atlantic Region for inviting our Founder Jasmine, a member of Kappa Sigma Omega Chapter and our Legislative Associate Kiaira, a member of Gamma Rho Omega to co-present during the Annual Advocacy Day. Their presentation “The Florida Legislative Landscape: Issues Impacting Our Local Communities” covered a myriad of Florida legislative policy.

We look forward to this annual event and the ability to Rise. Vote. And Lead.
