THE FIGHT AGAINST BILL 212 & DOUG FORD RIPPING OUT BIKE LANES CONTINUES

On 13 October 2026, contractor Alliance Verdi Civil Inc. started removing the bike lanes on Bloor Street W, Toronto, near Islington. After protestors successfully pushed back against said dismantling, Toronto Police riot police struck back in force the next day: 200m of bike lane was dismantled under the supervision of 100 riot cops. @thebikinglawyer called a protest the same evening against the continued dismantling of the bike lanes, which will stretch all the way to downtown in the near future. 2 arrests were reported today, one around 1pm, the other around 7:50pm— the latter was misgendered by police and had her bike seized.

Bike lanes save lives. Continued protests every day: see namely @cycletoronto, @thebikinglawyer, and @fridaysforfutureto for further information.

All photos are mine.

(2/2) TTC Day 2024 - There’s more! I’ve been sitting on all of these images for so long, it’s exciting to finally share them.

This is your sign to go out and explore your city! You never know what you may find.

(1/2) TTC Day - February 2024. The day we travelled the perimeter of Toronto using only the TTC system. We took over 20 different buses and streetcars, and it only took over 10 hours. So when people complain about the TTC, I get it, it has its issues, and really it could be more efficient if it weren’t for all the cars on the road, but it is sort of incredible how far it can take you. I am grateful for my community of transit enthusiast friends who have no fear when it comes to transit. I love telling people about this day because while it is insane and I don’t really recommend it, it can be done!

Some lesser known moments from 2023. ☺️

All these photos and memories that I have are causing me to panic about picking and choosing what to post on Instagram. I’m trying to fight the social obligation of posting things because I feel guilty, but rather, posting things when I want to share. I want to spend more time with my photos and files next year. I want to sift through my media and figure out the best form to share these things - maybe a photo book or several. I’m leaning towards making more physical things because I want to spend less time on the internet.

It’s been a long and transformative year, full of tragedy, stress, change, connections, dancing, and adventure. I am not the same person as I was in January, I think for the better.

I hope everyone takes this week to rest, hang out with loved ones, and reflect on how far they’ve come. It’s been a hard year for a lot of people, but hopefully good things are ahead. Sending love to you all! ❤️ happy holidays!
