In less than a month I will turn 47, and it’s definitely making me feel some kind of way. Certainly a bit emotional.

I’m not sad about growing older. In fact it’s sort of the opposite.

I look back and almost cannot believe that so far I’ve lived this amazing life.

And it makes me want to live every single second even louder.

So here’s to many more years of doing the things that make us feel the most alive.

WE’VE GROWN. A LOT. 💪

When Fortress Fitness opened its doors on September 2, 2020, we could only imagine what this place might become.
Since then, we’ve tripled our floor space, added more class times, expanded our Open Gym hours, introduced new programs and services, and continued finding more ways to help our community get stronger, healthier, and more confident.

But the best part of our growth isn’t the square footage or how many things we can fit on a schedule.

It’s the people. ❤️

It’s the person who walked in nervous for their first CrossFit class and now can’t imagine life without it. The HYROX athlete chasing a finish time they once thought was impossible. The person learning to lift weights for the first time. The friends who come to Open Gym and somehow spend as much time talking as they do working out.
Fortress has grown because YOU have grown with us.
Today, there are more ways than ever to be part of Fortress.

Swipe through ➡️ to see everything we currently offer, from CrossFit, HYROX and Strength to Personal Training, Nutrition Coaching, HYROX Simulations, Open Gym and resources you can use outside our walls.

And with classes beginning as early as 5:15 AM and training opportunities seven days a week, there’s probably a place on this schedule for you. 👇

CURRENT FORTRESS SCHEDULE

TUESDAY / THURSDAY
5:15–6:15 AM CrossFit
6:30–7:30 AM HYROX
7:30–8:30 AM Open Gym
8:30–9:30 AM CrossFit
11:30 AM–12:30 PM CrossFit
3:00–4:30 PM Open Gym
4:30–5:30 PM CrossFit
5:30–6:30 PM HYROX

SATURDAY
7:00–8:00 AM Open Gym
8:00–9:00 AM CrossFit
9:00–10:00 AM HYROX

SUNDAY
1:00–4:00 PM Open Gym

You do not have to be in shape before you come here. You don’t have to know how to lift. You don’t have to be a CrossFit athlete or be training for HYROX.
You just have to be willing to start.

📞 Call us or message us today and let us help you figure out where you fit at Fortress.

BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT FORTRESS. 🔥

New cycles. New goals. Big events. And a whole lot of reasons to SHOW UP.

💪 HERCULES begins August 17
Our new CrossFit cycle is here, nine weeks focused on getting stronger, more powerful, and more confident with the barbell and gymnastics, all building toward Test Week.

🌊 OCEANUS begins August 17
Our next HYROX cycle starts the road toward Nashville with running speed, threshold work, race-specific strength, muscular endurance and plenty of HYROX-specific conditioning. And don’t forget: running homework drops every Monday. 🏃‍♀️

🏋️ NEW STRENGTH CYCLE
We’re kicking off eight weeks of intentional strength work by establishing your 1RM Back Squat, Deadlift, Strict Press and Bench Press. LOG THOSE NUMBERS! We’ll use them throughout the cycle to build absolute strength, stability and durability.

🎟️ BACK TO ROUTINE continues through Labor Day!
Every class you attend = one raffle ticket. On Labor Day we’re drawing THREE winners, each taking home a BIG Fortress prize package. The more you show up, the more chances you have to win. 👀

🏈 SEPTEMBER 12: FOOTBALL THEMED ¾ HYROX SIMULATION
This one needs the WHOLE FORTRESS CREW. 750m runs + ¾ of every station, race day energy, a hydration station and gels at the rower. FREE for Fortress members! Event shirts are just $20 and must be ordered by September 1.

And remember, this is all building toward our FULL HYROX Simulation on October 24. 🔥

CrossFit. HYROX. Strength. Running. Competition. Community.

There is a LOT happening inside these walls over the next few months, and the best part is that you get to be part of it.

Pick your goals. Sign up for the things. Log your numbers. Do your homework. Cheer for your people.

And most importantly…

KEEP SHOWING UP. 🖤💛

❤️
For the last couple of years, I’ve quietly dealt with episodes of AFib.

My heart rate would suddenly climb and stay up for days. Then it would disappear. Sometimes it came back the next week. Sometimes I wouldn’t experience another episode for a month. Because it always seemed to go away, it was easy to keep pushing forward and tell myself I was fine.

I train hard. I work hard. I take pride in being strong, disciplined, and taking care of myself.

But being fit doesn’t make you invincible.

Eventually, I saw a cardiologist and learned that I needed a cardiac ablation. During the process, they performed a TEE, which is a transesophageal echocardiogram. The doctor puts an ultrasound probe down the esophagus to get a clear view behind the heart.

A week has now past since the ablation. During the procedure, I experienced a very rare complication called a vasospasm. Thankfully, I had an incredible medical team that recognized it immediately, handled it calmly and professionally, and took great care of me.

Now I’m recovering, healing, and getting stronger every day.

I’m sharing this because somebody reading it may be ignoring a warning sign because it comes and goes. Maybe you’re busy. Maybe you feel healthy. Maybe you train every day and think you can push through anything.

Don’t ignore what your body is telling you.

Get your checkups. Pay attention to changes. Ask questions. Find a good doctor. Take care of your heart not only for yourself, but for the people who love you and depend on you.

Strength isn’t just how much weight you can lift or how hard you can work.

Sometimes strength is slowing down, getting checked, accepting help, and doing what is necessary to protect your future.

Your health is one of the greatest responsibilities you will ever have.

Take care of yourself. You only get one heart.

Let’s Go!!

We got the keys to Fortress on June 30, 2020. The floor was covered in plaster dust and all that existed was that 25x50’ space. Long before the big addition.

Fast forward to today. Exactly 6 years later. A packed 530 PM class of 26 athletes.

This leap of faith has been built through sweat, tears, hard work and most importantly, community.

We love you guys. Thank you for helping us build this amazing place.

The best part of our HYROX simulations isn’t the finish times, it’s the people. The laughs before the start, the encouragement during the workout, and the memories made afterward.
That’s what Fortress has always been about: community first.
We’re incredibly grateful to bring these events to both our members and the wider fitness community, and we can’t wait to do it again.
🇺🇸 Next up: HALF HYROX SIMULATION — August 1 🇺🇸
Whether you’re preparing for Nashville or just looking for a reason to throw on some red, white, and blue and make memories with a friend, we’d love to have you.

🎸 Thursday’s workout is brought to you by Poison… and questionable life choices.

4 Sets. 1 every 9:00
🔥 10 Burpee Box Jump Overs
🏃 200m Run
🚴 30/22 Cal Echo Bike
🏃 200m Run
🔥 10 Burpee Box Jump Overs

The question isn’t who’s the fastest.
The question is…
⏱️ How long can you hold on?

This one will test your engine, your pacing, and your ability to keep moving when your brain starts negotiating with you.

Bring your water.
Bring your grit.
Bring that tough mindset.

Because fitness isn’t about avoiding hard things, it’s about proving to yourself that you can do them.

And the best part? You don’t have to do it alone.

Come suffer, laugh, and celebrate with the Fortress crew.

After all, we’re here for Nothin’ But A Good Time. 🤘
See you soon.

Let’s go. 🔥
