This is where your Clean Cashmere yarn begins ! Our herd farms get excited for this time of year . Even though winter chores are no walk in the park the cashmere on our goats has arrived ! Fluffy , huggable and smelling oh so good . (cashmere does not have the lanolin oils that can hold oders) Cashmere begins to grow around the summer solstice, growing faster and faster from July to December and growing slower from the winter solstice on. Fiber growth comes to cease in February, when shedding occurs around April or May. It is clear that the winter solstice is the turning point of cashmere growth from fast to slow.
