I came home from India last year with beautiful fabrics, most of which I used for the window treatments in my house, incredible finds, and plenty of inspiration for future projects. And while sourcing treasures is certainly one of my favorite parts of traveling, the real treasures are always the people I meet along the way.

On my second trip to India. I had the pleasure of meeting Carol LeFlufy. Yes, that’s her last name, and yes, it’s a good one.

Carol has had the most fascinating career, working with the likes of Steven Meisel and Annie Leibovitz before founding her own photography agency, Eye Forward. But beyond her impressive résumé, she is endlessly curious, wildly creative, and an absolute HOOT.

We recently caught up over the phone and talked about everything from creativity and color to failure, travel, and the importance of staying curious.

As much as I love bringing beautiful things home, it’s the people and their stories that stay with me.

India 2025–Part 1
India has been sitting with me ever since I left last month.
I traveled through Mumbai, Udaipur, Narlai, Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Agra with 10 incredibly dynamic women and the one-of-a-kind @grantkgibson . India is rich in culture, with artisans who continue to keep traditional arts alive through generations of skill and dedication. There is extraordinary beauty in the architecture, colors, patterns, and people of India.
The people are hardworking, resilient, kind and genuinely happy. While I loved exploring the vibrant cities, my favorite moments were in the rural areas, witnessing everyday life unfold.
Thank you India! I’ll be back.

My second trip to India, this time to Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Mumbai and honestly, I’m still processing. It was a total and complete whirlwind. Beautiful, chaotic, inspiring, exhausting (in a good way), and unlike anywhere else.

Thank you to this group: Carol, Erin, Elizabeth, Katie, Jill, Meredithe, Lisa, Stefanie, Verna, and Wendy but especially to Grant for putting together such a special experience, every last detail was amazing. Experiences like this really do fill my cup. India once again exceeded all my expectations.

And once again, I can’t wait to go back.
