Oh, what a day! 💗

Today was the official opening of my little boutique on Thames Ditton High Street, and what a day it was!

So many of you came to visit, shop, say hello and share such lovely comments about the space, the atmosphere and the clothes I’ve curated. I honestly feel a little overwhelmed, so grateful and very happy!

Sometimes life throws opportunities your way, and this one just feels right. I never imagined I would be doing this a couple of years ago, but here we are!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me get the boutique ready @clemencevallot @mitasparke @alicebailey07, Karen @wardrobequeenuk for helping with VM and styling, to everyone who came today to support me, and to my new High Street retailers neighbours who have been so lovely and generous @thamesdittonbakery for the delicious pastries, @secretgardenthamesditton for the beautiful flowers and Rosie @the_coffee_pot for keeping customers caffeinated!

I feel so very lucky to be part of this community!

I can’t wait to meet more of you and hopefully see some familiar faces again next week.

But for now, I’m off to bed with tired feet and a very full heart!

Bisous 💗

Built from the drawing up.
Thank you to @_yoppum for bringing us onto the project, and to @clemencevallot for a design that was a pleasure to build.

Three herringbone panels framed in stone paving, with the centre panel lined up to the double doors
▫️ A raised planting bed running the full length of the garden
▫️ A built-in BBQ station for long summer evenings

I had the pleasure joining @clemencevallot on her channel @thesmartcroissant talking about AI in my work as a 3D visualiser. It’s such a hot topic, sometimes scary but very useful at the same time. Thank you @clemencevallot for inviting me in!

Some members at BNI have obvious potential referral paths with almost anyone, eg Accountant, Mortgage broker, handyman, plumber… everybody could use one or all of them… so I set out to look differently and see if I could find the least likely pairing among members…

These two may fit that idea, but… Clemence is an interior designer, Bal is a roofer… and champion boxer in his spare time … how could they help each other?

Simple really… they both work with and talk to homeowners… both will be observing and asking questions and listening for cues, eg “we really should get someone to look at the roof before we do the bedrooms and bathroom…” or conversely ”we are getting the roof done ahead of getting someone to redo our bathrooms and bedroom”

So a referral is born! and that is the joy of being part of the community that is a BNI chapter…

Bal is at www.apexroofinglondon.co.uk
Clemence at www.clemencevallot.com

And of course both can refer to all the other great trades and services within the group… unlikely partners? On the surface maybe, look closer, and not at all unlikely! Email breakfast@tudorbni.co.uk for an invite to see for yourself, first visit is free.

Still buzzing from last night! 🥂✨
We officially launched Brandtastic at The Park in Teddington, and I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd to celebrate with.
Over 75 local business owners filled the room to connect, collaborate, and grab a copy of the book. Seeing so many familiar faces (and making plenty of new ones!) from across Teddington and The Hamptons meant the world.
Huge appreciation to @vinegarcreative @clemencevallot @sasarcola @coversureteddington @marketingtechldn for being an absolute legends and the dream team who helped pull the evening together.
If you picked up a copy of Brandtastic last night, drop a comment below - I’d love to know what you think of the downloadable worksheets!
Swipe through for a peek at the launch highlights 📸👇

P.S. If you missed this one, we’re already planning the next local meet-up. Details dropping soon!

An early morning for breakfast and business networking at BNI Tudor

Arriving around sunrise is often rewarding at our amazing venue on the edge of Bushy Park

Featured today was Roofer, Boxer and now… Eastenders star! Bal Khara, I say ‘star’… well he is in the show, doing what he does best… knocking out his opponent in the boxing ring! Anyway he told us about different types of roofing materials, when and why each one should be used…

An all female leadership table really shouldn’t be noteworthy, but as women only make up a third of our number it’s still worthy of recognition IMO… L to R, Cathy Maker, Mel Franke and Victoria Fuller

Most meetings end with breakout sessions for one or more of the various power teams in the chapter… today it was the Property Team who enjoyed the September Sun while looking for ways to promote and support each other’s businesses, L to R: Nick Howe, Architect, Daniel Lees, lettings, Hamza Kamil, Glazing, windows and doors, James Harrison Commercial property law and Clemence Vallot, Interiors.

Bathrooms! Avocado awfulness or luxurious retreat from reality? The choice is yours and to help make the upgrade, designer Clemence Vallot (L) has a fixed price of £850 to plan your perfect room, and you will save double that by using the discounts she can make available… then it’s over to Victoria Fuller of Avoca Refurbishments to turn design into actuality… she does all kinds of small building work but bathrooms have become a bit of a speciality… from schools and community facilities to adaption for access and disability, to the sinful stylishness that Clemence will design…

www.clemencevallot.com and avocarefurbishments.co.uk

Or an email to breakfast@tudorbni.co.uk could get you in the room to see why Clemence and Victoria and 28 other local business people meet up for breakfast each Tuesday… hint it’s the money… and the other things.

Bargain Hunt! or West Country craftsmanship meets French Flair… Seeing members collaborate on projects that have arisen solely because of what they have learned from and about each other in the group is always satisfying!

Rob Chadwick is an upholsterer and Clemence Vallot an interior designer… and this week they will become BNI Tudor’s answer to ‘Bargain Hunt’ when they Visit Kempton Antiques Market together in search of chairs suitable for renovation, recovering, and of course, adding value!

Rob is currently offering a line of chairs made to a traditional design, and with the added twist of Persian fabrics, at Faam Gallery on Richmond Hill.

Clemence tells us that decisions about things like kitchen layout are about lifestyle and should not be left to architects! Her rooms are functional and classy with a definite gallic edge…

As President of BNI Tudor, it’s always a pleasure to celebrate new members joining our chapter. Clemence is an experienced interior designer and a long-standing BNI member who has recently transferred to our chapter. We’re thrilled to have her with us and look forward to seeing her business flourish through the connections and opportunities within the group.

A new member at our chapter is always cause for a pause to celebrate! today we welcomed Clemence Vallot, (L) who is an interior designer… seen with President Mel Franke. Clemence is not new to BNI, but moved to us as she can cycle to the meeting… though in an unfortunate twist of fate 😢 her bicycle had a flat tyre today… Uber to the rescue😊
