Thanks to everyone who came to see “Halfway to the Sun”, which was on show at Somers Gallery until yesterday. The exhibition showcased a prototype of David Rickard’s proposed public art installation curated by Climate Art. David and I have been working on this site-specific project for over three years, and seeing the true enthusiasm and joy from the residents of Somers Town and everyone else who saw the show meant a lot.
We are fundraising for this innovative public art commission, so do get in touch if yo want to get involved. Huge thanks to AKT II, Camden Council, Euston Town Bid, Transition, and Maylim for making this exhibition a reality.

The exhibition will showcase David Rickard’s forthcoming public art installation curated by Climate Art. Exploring how polluting systems can be reimagined, the installation responds to the pressing air quality issues in Somers Town.

We made it! Celebratory laps around the beacon at White Collar Factory, Old Street after hanging the last of the fabric. Designed and made by @bamboo.logy with engineering by @akt_ii. This installation will host there 25th anniversary party along with being part of the @l_d_f_official

This demountable sculpture showcases the structural potential of Bamboo, through a combination of architecture and engineering. It was first delivered, complete with a pavilion canopy, at Rye Nature Reserve, and now morphs into a singular spire of optimism in central London: The Beacon of Hope.⁠⁠

The project is built and designed by artist Joseph Williams and his @Bamboo.logy team, with engineering from AKT II. ⁠⁠

Constantly bewildered by you @bamboo.logy anyone in London can now visit Joey’s project ‘The Beacon of Hope’ the central column for The Beacon which bloomed in Rye Harbour this summer as part of the @climateartuk residency. His structure will be up for a month situated outside @whitecollarfactory in #oldstreet for @l_d_f_official engineered and commissioned by @akt_ii

Despite MARGINS now having finished, there is still a chance to see some of our Studio Artists' work at the 70th Anniversary Exhibition of Rye Society of Artists at Rye Community Centre.

This is the final week, so pop in before 29th August!
