Take part in a free workshop with Bridget McKenzie, founder of @climatemuseumuk, using a framework called People Take Action. Link in bio.

This session will use creative methods to help you imagine growing your sense of agency, motivation and knowledge to take action on the Earth crisis. This will be a chance to give feedback on the framework too, and explore how you might use it with people you connect with in your work and life.

Come at 5 for a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chance to meet other like-minded people. The workshop will start at 5:30.

This event is funded through an Awards for All grant.

This is:
‘What happens now?’
Oil on linen, 16” x 18”

I continue to be interested in the void, disappearance and transience.

Here I hark back to tropes used within 19th century landscape painting, and have used the concepts of Rachel Whitehead’s sculpture to illustrate what is becoming ever clearer - our impermanence. As our feelings of anxiety increase so do our need for a sense of security and ‘home’.

Transformation of a natural portrait @PrinceBeguin. The work was amazing. Eye catching and elaborative.

There was a unique way on how the natural look and individuals and people had to change withing the covid 19 lock down.

80% of the the population had to wear masks and this all changed everything about portrait photography that stormed the internet.

Great experience. Massive study.

🌳PROTECT FORESTS END TIMBER GREENWASH🌳 short film release

‘One With the Earth – One With Each Other’ is a plea for solidarity with global Indigenous land-defenders. It cries loudly: ‘We are one with the Earth - We are one with each other. What we do to the Earth, we do to each other.’

Last Month Celine Lim and Komeok Joe - members of rainforest communities in Borneo - came to the UK with a message to the government. Stop destructive land grabbing and deforestation by timber companies.

“Without the forest the Penan people cannot survive. The forest is our bank, our supermarket, our hospital. This is our life - the way we survive. We hope that governments open their ears to hear our demands: to stop the logging in Sarawak and to stop buying timber from Sarawak.”

🚨Some news from the Melting Metropolis team 🚨

We are delighted to announce that we have received @wellcometrust Discovery funding to research the six year project: Melting Metropolis: Everyday Histories of Heat and Health in London, New York, and Paris since 1945.

With global temperatures currently rising due to the climate crisis, heatwaves are often amplified through urban heat island effects in cities. This project aims to understand how historical experiences of high temperatures in urban areas can shape how we tackle this pressing issue in the present and future.

We’ll be studying how Londoners, New Yorkers and Parisians have experienced heat and sought to mitigate its impact on their health and well-being. We are interested in people’s lived experience alongside the actions of urban authorities and planners.

👉for more information about the project follow the link in our bio. Please watch out for the @livuni website and details of postdoc positions that will be advertised in due course, and do share links to community artists who are engaging with climate in these 3 cities.
