Team MODUS! Real Coaches. Real members. Real kid photos, because apparently this is where we’re at now!

I created the Stronger Together membership 4 years ago and it’s my favorite space to be in. My goal has always been to bring people together, to provide a space where we can share and discuss health and training topics, and to try hard at whatever we are doing.

This group training membership is built for climbers who want structured climbing and strength training. Every training phase is periodized, and your individual needs are taken into account. It works best when you show up consistently, ask questions, and use the coaching calls.

And I answer all individual questions!

Come join us, I have a 3 month special for new members ❤️

My name is Leigh and I am a late bloomer with a lot of stoke. Thank you @talkchalkytome for getting in touch and giving me a forum to share my story!

Having started climbing relatively late in life, sometimes I feel like I am on a ticking clock, trying to make up for lost time. I really enjoy it all, but I've realized I will happily spend all day climbing something/anything if the company is good.

So, it’s fair to say that the biggest impact from climbing is community. I am immensely grateful for the people I have been lucky to connect with. They continually inspire and motivate me, and are so much of the reason for my continual enthusiasm.

The deeper I’ve invested in my climbing journey, the more I’ve found the exact people I want to surround myself with. Climbers who share the excitement, who’ve cheered me on but also held me accountable so that I work on the things I say I want to improve. Coaches, guides, instructors and mentors who’ve all contributed to the climber and person I want to be, and have evolved into. Friends/partners you trust your life with, sharing laughs on an adventurous multi pitch or spotters you trust your ankles with on a lowball in the forest.

My story is as much as about them as it is about me, so they’re here with me in this post as they are on the rock. I’m forever grateful they’re in my life!

Gratitude post pt 2. I’m thankful for the myriad of pros and expert climbers I’ve learned from this year. I didn’t set a specific goal for 2023, but somehow found myself fully immersed in a year-long commitment to training for climbing. A triple pronged approach with strength training, technique improvement and skills development that’s only rocketed my motivation even more.

It takes a special someone to be able to pass on knowledge adeptly and with so much kindness and gentleness. To have patience for new beginners, to watch them fail (many times over), to know when to push them out of their comfort zone and when to dial it back with support and encouragement, to empathize through the fear, pain and frustration, and to really be happy for the wins of others. And in some cases, spending many hours, if not days, with me and my dumb jokes. I’m not sure I could do it as well as the folks right here.

Especially grateful to have spent so much time with my coaches Mercedes, Sam, Andrew and the amazing guides Jack, Lani & Katie. And shout out to orgs that facilitated much of the instruction @vw_north, @vw_seattle, @uplift_climbing, @climbersofcolor and @neverstopmovingorg.

Forever thankful.

Gratitude post pt 1. Thankful to have had an amazing year of adventures with my incredible friends - some of whom I only just met in the last 12 months but I couldn’t imagine life without them now. More of you I couldn’t fit in the slide, or we just need actual pictures together lol.

Grateful for the communities and groups that have brought us together, and I am stoked to add more to my ever growing group of folks who just get me. Thanks @modusathletica, @neverstopmovingorg, @sherockspnw especially.

Bonus pic on the last slide and the most gratitude of all to the mysterious Mr HikingLeigh (he has a name! it’s Ben!) and my supermutt Cannoli for supporting me on all my whims, giving me the space to be me and pursue the things I want to do, even if it takes me away from them, and always having a burrito or pizza ready at home.

Happy Thanksgiving y’all.
