A site-specific immersive installation exploring the entangling of life and death in Sheffield's General Cemetery.

INTERTWINING combines soundscape and electronic music with film, glitch and photography. The installation weaves heritage and biodiversity in a landscape where the graves of the departed are enveloped by the abundant flora and fauna of a nature reserve.

The installation has been created by @mattykgreen @justinmorey23, @rubyfox___ @cloudninedecor

Please note we have extended opening hours until 8pm so that you can enjoy the installation in Samuel Worth Chapel as the light turns to dusk.

Honestly, how GOOD was the silent disco at 4D Fest?! 🪩 🎧

A HUGE thank you to Sky High Scaffolding for building the entire structure and making sure the space was completely safe and ready to go, and to @cloudninedecor for loaning us the goods to transform it into something so special. You took our crazy vision, put it all together, and turned it into total magic. We literally couldn’t have done it without you ❤️

And of course a massive shoutout to our amazing committee and volunteers who worked non-stop behind the scenes to get everything set up, keep it running, and pack it all down. You guys are the absolute best, thank you for all your time and hard work 🥹🕺💙

A magical day in the sun with this week’s artist residents, Ruthie Ford and Emma McGeehan! 
Together in the woods, they created a living cloak and crown, inviting people to step into a space of complete immersion in nature, to feel it, wear it, and reflect on what that connection means to them. 
Using only natural materials, the pieces combined floristry and textiles and a chance to experiment, play, and reimagine how we relate to the living world around us.

Last but not least in our Artist spotlights we have Emma McGeehan 🌺

Emma is a Master Florist who’s making her first move into installation art after running her floral event business, @orchisfloraldesign for over 21 years. Her extensive professional experience includes creating immersive floral pieces for festivals like @lostvillagefestival and @glastofest and large scale promotional campaigns from fresh flowers and foliages for brands such as @adidas @aldiuk and Land Rover 🌿

Now, working under the handle @pick_me_alien Emma creates strange, beautiful little floral hybrids and leaves them in the cracks of cities, a fun way to surprise people and force them to see the natural world they usually ignore. From festival stages to forgotten pavement cracks, Emma’s work challenges the viewer to engage 🌸🪻🌾

Supernature is an exhibition taking place in Hectors House today through to Sunday in Ecclesall Woods 🌲
