POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some of the most meaningful moments happen when we come together to share our culture. ❤️🇰🇭

This weekend, my sister Suy and I had the joy of sharing Cambodian cooking traditions with our community. From preparing kroeung to grilling lemongrass beef sticks, it was wonderful seeing everyone learning and getting involved.

But my favorite part? Watching Waj, his cousin Aiden and other young people participate. These are the moments that remind me why preserving our heritage matters so much.

A heartfelt thank you to @clprojectclt, @asccharlotte and @mecklenburgcounty for making experiences like this possible.

Food keeps our stories alive. ❤️

A little taste of Cambodian heritage! 🇰🇭❤️

Here's Sister Suy sharing how to prepare traditional Cambodian kroeung!

More than cooking, it's about sharing our traditions and keeping our culture alive for the next generation.

A heartfelt thank you to @clprojectclt and @asccharlotte for bringing our community together!

I’m really excited for this upcoming talk — it still feels unreal that my art journey has led me to moments like this. I never imagined I’d be standing in front of people sharing how loss, rejection, and rebuilding opened me up in ways I couldn’t have pictured years ago. Art changed me. It grew me. It gave me a voice I didn’t know I had.

That same journey didn’t just bring me back to creating — it led me to build Embody Arts & Apparel, a way to turn my story, my culture, and my healing into something people can carry with them. What started as rediscovering my voice became a whole creative lane I never saw coming.

Now I get to share how it all started and hopefully inspire someone who’s navigating their own turning point. This will be my third talk, and probably my last one for the year, so pull up, listen, support, and be part of this moment with me. 😇😊

Healing from the trauma of the refugee experience starts with talking about it. We are so proud of our panelists for their bravery and vulnerability in allowing us to learn from their stories.
