✨October This month seems to be a walk through the past. Not all things that visit us again will make us happy. Some things will make us cry, others will make us angry about what happened. This combo feels like a reminder that we can feel whatever we feel, but that doesn’t mean we need to react according to that emotion. We all need to let things settle now and again and not act on an impulse. You know, revenge can be sweet, but where will it get us in the end? That sweet taste can get bitter quite quickly. 🤷 Happy October ! 🎃 🔮R Black tarot by @rblackart & Affaires Sensibles by Hyena & Gwai Lenormand by @cmuins #october #wheelof2026 #sixofcups #fox #revenge

✨September 2026 The Queen of Swords brings clarity and boundaries. So it seems like September is the month where vague behaviour, unnecessary drama or connections aren’t getting too much room. In combination with the House and the Social Circle card, September is a shift towards familiar, safe and comfortable things and people. This is not about isolating oneself but about making sure the energy goes to the right people and events. What are the true, supportive connections and which ones have we grown out of? 🔮R Black tarot by @rblackart & Affaires Sensibles by @soulshadowmuseum & Gwai Lenormand by @cmuins #wheelof2026 #rblacktarot #affairessensibles #gwailenormand #september

Hello. This is the Tang Family Archive, made in loving memory of my grandparents and my mum; for our future generations; and for the sake of holding onto a small Hong Kong family’s micro-history. One day, I’d like to use this account to illustrate the stories behind my family’s photographs, the stories that a still image cannot tell. I’m not sure I’m ready to tell them yet, but I know that’s where this is going. So I’m starting with step one: building the archive itself. I’m making this post as I wrap the photographs, in between everything else. This will move at the pace that grief and life allow. I think that’s the right pace for it. 1. Midnight repackaging of the photos from the archive in acid-free paper, and artist’s tape to hold the flimsy wrapping together. Is this the archival gold standard? No but I’m making do with materials I have at home. And please don’t come at me for not wearing gloves, I made a choice. Thank you to iniva/Kaitlene @justkaitlene for gifting the unused PEL archival storage boxes so the photos have somewhere safe to live 🥰 I’m also dusting a lot because of my psoriasis sheds quite a bit 😬 2. Repackaging process 📁 3. Mum and me in our flat in Hong Kong, 1996. 4. Screenshot of the password-protected digitised archive on my website. It’s how I’m currently sharing it with relatives still in Hong Kong. 5. Screenshot of the catalogue Google spreadsheet.

It's Refugee Week 🌸 To mark this year's theme of Courage, we've compiled a reading list of books and zines from the Stuart Hall Library collection that hold the stories and journeys of refugees and asylum seekers, ask what it means to belong, and show how courage and creativity have always shaped our shared culture. From T. J. Demos on documentary and displacement, to Sara Ahmed on the politics of emotion, to community-led newspapers and living oral histories — each title carries voices that deserve to be heard. Because every person, wherever they are from, deserves love, respect, and dignity. 🤍 Swipe to see some of the highlighted books, and come visit us at the Stuart Hall Library to read more. The Stuart Hall Library is open Tuesdays to Fridays, 10 am to 5 pm.📚 The cover illustration is of a protea, a South African flower that symbolises courage, transformation and diversity. ✏️ Reading list illustrated and compiled by Charlotte Mui @cmuins #RefugeeWeek #RefugeeWeek2026 #readinglist

It's a throwback to when we met Andy Koh and Sharon Lim from the Library & Archives department at the National Gallery Singapore @nationalgallerysingapore ☀️ On a visit to London, they dropped by the Stuart Hall Library to learn more about our organisation and our library and archive practices. They also generously donated two books which are now in the Stuart Hall Library: Tang Da Wu: Earth Work 1979 and See Me, See You: Early Video Installation of Southeast Asia. 💛📚

Fruitings Will Come is now available to download! 🌱✨ Fruitings Will Come is a beautiful digital resource pack developed by artist Maymana Arefin as a space to expand upon the ideas that emerged during the making of Present Land, our Westminster community project exploring climate justice through creative making. Supported by Westminster Council and in collaboration with Climate Reframe, the project unfolded through four participatory workshops held at Grand Junction, Westminster, London, last year and early this year. It brought together artists and community members to think about how climate justice is lived, felt, and imagined. We hope you enjoy it and feel inspired to get creative with the ideas presented. Download the pack at iniva.org or click the link in bio! 🔗 Written by: @funghi.futures Collaborators: @hafsahhafeji @samiadumbuya @smartphonemicrograph and Amber Amoo Gottfried Edited by: @plengjiyarithut @johnimonlydancingagain @dr_stinky Designed by: @cmuins Supported by: @climatereframe @grandjunctionw2 @citywestminster

Happy International Women’s Day to everyone. Today (and every day) we celebrate our amazing mostly-women & women-led team here at iniva who do their best to thoughtfully nurture, develop and support anti-racist and equitable spaces that centre Black and Global Majority artists and their communities for creativity, wellbeing, joy. 💓 These barely capture the multitude of responsibilities we are all carrying, and the care the team puts into our work. Here’s to the girls we were, and the women we’ve become. 🙌💪✨ 📸 Featuring photos of our younger selves: Sepake Angiama, Azieb Pool, Susannah (Susie) Gorgeous, Rebecca Sinker, Tavian Hunter, Kaitlene Koranteng, Charlotte Mui, Beatriz Lobo, Vasita (Pleng) Jirathiyut, Jenny Starr, and Stefania Valente. (And shoutout to our freelance Finance Manager Adrian Harper, who supports our finance team!) P.S Typo in the first slide: This is who runs the Stuart Hall Library & iniva’s Archive! #thisiswhoweare #inivateam #internationalwomensday
