FEATHERFALL LIVE IN BLYTHE

TO CELEBRATE THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF FEATHERFALL, MY BAND AND I WENT TO THE DESERT TO RECORD A LIVE ALBUM.

THE IDEA ORIGINATED WHEN DYLAN AND I GOT TOGETHER AND SHARED A VISION OF CREATING AN OUTDOOR LIVE MUSIC PROJECT. TWO MONTHS LATER, WE FOUND OURSELVES IN BLYTHE, CA, SURROUNDED BY A GROUP OF OUR CLOSEST FRIENDS. THIS PROJECT WAS A TRUE LABOR OF LOVE. NO LARGE BUDGET. JUST A GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH AN IDEA.

WHILE THE SONGS ON FEATHERFALL ORIGINATED FROM A DARK PLACE OF ISOLATION, IT WAS SPECIAL TO CAPTURE A REIMAGINED VERSION BUILT ON A FOUNDATION OF UNITY AND COLLABORATION.

“Second Star Farewell”
Choreographed by yours truly…✨✨✨

Creating this beautiful piece has been one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had. Based on the real life story of how the storybook Peter Pan was written, I was honored to tell the story of the playwright James M. Barrie and Sylvia Llewelyn Davies and their journey through choreography. To finally get to use my full imagination on a style I was so excited to try like lyrical ballroom, it challenged me in making a piece look both elegant and emotional by using partner lifts as them taking flight and through storytelling. Using Neverland not only as a place with fairy dust and pirates, but also as a symbol of magic and hope, I wanted this piece to touch people’s hearts and imagination and I’m proud to say that it did just that. Thank you to my beautiful dancers who worked so hard to bring my vision to life and for your dedication 🤍✨

Miss Cecily Cardew,

What a joy it was to live in Cecily’s wonderfully dramatic imagination along with diary entries, tea parties, and all! Playing this witty, hopeless romantic, and delightfully mischievous girl in The Importance of Being Earnest was truly such a special experience. I had so much fun playing her and letting my inner child and princess play in my own little way. I’m forever grateful for my scene partners who absolutely were a joy to work with and to the lovely crew!

Oh Gwendolyn Fairfax you hilariously dramatic woman. I was such a challenge taking on the text of Oscar Wilde for The Importance of Being Earnest. Our director @profruff was so right in expressing to our cast that the text is a character in itself. The words are the story and it was such a challenge to bring these words to life.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into a role that challenged me so much. I walk away from this show a better performer. Thank you Ruff for trusting me with Gwendolyn. Thank you @swctheatre and thank you to the entire cast and crew for making this experience so magical. Special shoutout to Grace (I don’t have her insta) for the bespoke Victorian gown made specifically to my body measurements that made me feel like Cinderella.
