🤎🖤 Join us for a screening of Aftershock, a film about the racial disparities in maternal mortality rates in the US.

In 2023, the maternal mortality rate for Black women was 50.3 deaths per 100,000, significantly higher than rates for White (14.5), Hispanic (12.4), and Asian (10.7) women. This is the product of a brutal and actively continuing history of systemic racism in the medical field. This Black History Month, we are seeking to draw attention to this crisis and educate people about it through our screening of Aftershock.

Co-hosted by The Young Democratic Socialists of America, Planned Parenthood and Black Student Union at CNU.

The student body of CNU are demanding that the university take action to provide Free Plan B as well as other vital reproductive healthcare and education resources on campus.
Here are excerpts from a few of the testimonies that students offered at our Reproductive Freedom Town Hall last Monday regarding why this issue matters to them.
"This is not a conversation about whether or not people should have access to birth control and basic healthcare, this is a conversation about whether or not people deserve to live"
Keep up the pressure!
