9.87/10 concert

If we were on the floor…would have been a 10/10 but that’s on me.

All of these bands were on my bucket list of bands to see and every single one exceeded expectations.

@theplotinyouofficial has to be one of the most hype openers for a metal concert out there.

@motionlessinwhite Has been a top band since listening to them for the first time back around 2014

@bringmethehorizon and @olobersykes are true rock stars. The performance, atmosphere, attitude, everything was freaking SICK. 🤘🏼

Some drills, some output, some games.

I challenged myself this summer to be more creative with these turf sessions. Last year was very by the book, running tests as drills, very basic and quite dry.

This year I got out of my comfort zone, experimented on my own, took ideas and inspiration from other coaches and melded them together.

We kept the prep very drill oriented and then broke out the timing gates and cones for the main work. Still kept some resemblance of skill work.

We ended nearly every session with a competitive style game that was more so conditioning disguised as a game.

Overall it was a huge success this summer with our biggest session having 32 athletes. I never want to lose the traditional S&C methods and structure, but I definitely leaned more into “fun” than “business” this year.

And watch me get cooked by two of the athletes in mirror games.

Everyone wants the result… but not everyone wants the coach.

The truth? There isn’t an app for everything. Sometimes, you need a coach for that.

Whether it’s fitness, nutrition, business, sports, or mindset, having someone tell you what to do, give you feedback, and keep you accountable can save you months (or years) of trial and error.

I’m a teacher by trade—not a salesperson. When I started my business, I had no clue what I was doing. I leaned on coaches and mentors every step of the way. And with my fitness? I still hire a coach because I know accountability and expert guidance get me further, faster.

2025 was…wild.

I visited the most places I ever have.
•Tampa, Killington, Denver, NYCx2, Calgary, Raleigh, Olympic Training Center, Ottawa.

Saw the most career growth.
•Not just $$’s…but confidence and connection’s. Which I would argue are better than $$’s.

Started a high school strength and conditioning program.
•Started laying crumbs for this back in April 2024. If you really want something, don’t stop until you make it a reality.

Bought a house.
•This was NOT on my 2025 Bingo card. Saw a good opportunity and ended up learning some plumbing and electrical in the process.

Turned 30.
•And I still don’t feel over 23. Minus some extra responsibilities and debt from the above bullet point.

The only goal(s) for 2026 is to keep building and moving forward. 🤘🏼

Technique > Age

When it comes to training youth athletes, there are few exercises I won’t choose because of age.

It depends more on the athlete’s quality of technique.

How we load, and variations of certain exercises, will determine how the athlete executes said exercise.

Example, a deadlift (hinge exercise).

We can execute it a number of different ways.

Bilateral, unilateral, RDL, DB RDL, goblet RDL, cable RDL, zercher RDL, KB Deadlift, B-stance RDL, the list goes on.

The entire goal of the deadlift is to move the pelvis horizontally and use the hamstrings and glutes to lift the weight, how we load it will depend on the athlete’s SKILL.

The above examples are ALL going to impact how the athlete moves.

Pick the correct one and the athlete will succeed, pick the incorrect one and watch them crumble under the load (somewhat literally).

Make an educated decision and you can have a 13 year old’s deadlift look better than a college freshman’s.

*These athletes are 8th, 9th, and 10th grade.

Studies show that across your entire cycle, your ability to consume oxygen and perform doesn’t significantly change.

Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise or disempower you into thinking you can’t train throughout your cycle.
Listen to your body; not a someone on the internet.

Some days feel powerful. Some days feel heavy.

Cycle syncing might sound empowering, but it often does the opposite.
As @devya.anni and I discussed in our Live, labeling parts of your cycle as “weak” or “not fit for lifting” can make women fear their own physiology, and steer them away from strength training.

I’ve lived with Adenomyosis…I know what painful cycles feel like.
But movement was medicine. Some days lighter, some days stronger — but always mine.

Don’t let pseudoscience convince you that you’re fragile.
Learn your body. Train accordingly. 💪
