PVT ‘26 Things we discussed: -success leaves clue -success is our only choice -what works works and what doesn’t work doesn’t work doesn’t matter what you think -today is done, tomorrow is prepped, i don’t get paid to guard a desk -pressure can create diamonds if there’s a process, or it can create cracks -“how we learn to move”by rob gray -exercises don’t transfer, qualities do

First slide is 237.4 lbs for a crappy single. Not exactly sure but I think I lost my brace in the hole and barely stood it up. So I rested for a couple mins, and tried it again but for a top set double. I made sure to be very tight, and Brace well and it felt like a different weight! Both reps felt so much better and clearly moved better. Thanks to @_dumptruckjay for the spot.

How to improve Agility in Youth Football Athletes: We test and measure the proper things that have the most carry over to the sports they play, like the 5-10-5. Instead of cones and yellow ladders and footwork without proper force production, we learn foundational positions and coach athletes on how to properly move. Now Cam has several numbers to work with and we will focus on strength, speed and power to improve his 5-10-5 the next time we measure. Sub 6 seconds is very impressive for someone so young👀💪 Do you have young football players at home that need to learn how to move better and get stronger & healthier at the same time? Send Head Strength Coach Vinny Pelillo an email at vinny@altamontperformance.com to get started with your complimentary Athlete Assessment💪

IN-SEASON TRAINING ISN’T EXTRA WORK. IT’S PART OF THE PLAN. ⚾️📈 Parents, sometimes your athlete doesn’t need another baseball lesson. They need to become a stronger, faster, more explosive athlete so the skills they’re practicing have more physical horsepower behind them. Nolan McKeon, Class of 2031 Baseball, is a great example. Nolan trains 2–3x every week, year-round — including during his season. His latest VALD SmartSpeed testing: Flying 10yd Sprint | 20yd Build-Up 1.249 sec ➡️ 1.216 sec PR 🔥 0.033 sec faster Peak Velocity 8.01 yd/s ➡️ 8.22 yd/s PR ⚡ +2.6% Why does that matter for baseball? Better speed and force production can show up in first-step quickness, stealing bases, running down balls, getting out of the box and producing more explosive movement on the field.** And no—properly designed strength training does not stunt a young athlete’s growth. The key words are properly designed. We coach technique, manage volume and intensity, and progress athletes based on readiness—not ego. Testing is cool. Collecting numbers is easy. Knowing what to DO with those numbers is coaching. At APL, we test, track and use the data to make programming decisions. The goal isn’t to exhaust kids or chase soreness. It’s to identify what they need, train it appropriately, retest it and make sure the program is actually moving them forward. Nolan is getting faster DURING baseball season. That’s what intelligent in-season training should look like. ⚾ Skills matter. 🏋️ Strength matters. ⚡ Speed matters. 📊 And having a plan that connects all three matters Want to know what YOUR athlete actually needs? Schedule a COMPLIMENTARY ATHLETE ASSESSMENT at Altamont Performance Lab. We’ll establish the baseline, identify what needs to improve and show you how we build the plan from there. WE MEASURE WHAT MATTERS.

In Season Training is a secret weapon for a young, developing athlete. Learning how and when to modify their training schedules is one of the things our strength coaches pride themselves on. Football is a contact and extremely violent sport. Strength and Speed Training give them the tools to perform that sport at the highest level all season long. Setting PRs In Season is something Cam is going to get used to for a very long time💪
