First of all, I would like to say thank you to the Indian River HS Coach, Coach Ransom, for inviting me to run at nationals, it was fun traveling and running with the other athletes that were on this trip with me. Tyona made this trip the most comfortable for me and introduced me to the majority of the girls that were on this trip, we became pretty cool quickly and related a lot. Being at Adidas nationals for the very first time was extremely nerve-racking, with so many amazing atheltes attending and the huge crowds watching, it kind of faltered my confidence a bit, with such a big crowd watching and judging, I couldn’t help but imagine the reactions if I fell in my heat, so when I was already in the set position for the 100mh, the anxiety was gone and I had already stopped breathing. I won in my heat, but since I was already so nervous I couldn’t get my steps right and wiggled a bit in my lane that I got a 15.20, which placed me 24th nationally. I was upset but I promised myself to let go of all the anxiety and have fun with the shuttle hurdle relay, and I did, our relay team got 6th overall which was exciting for all of us, and we also got a time that we never expected to get, a 59.77, which was pretty fast from what we expected. Overall, I’m happy that I got to go to adidas nationals and come home an All American, and with fun memories.
