Somewhere between the lightning over the sea on race morning and crossing the finish line on the red Ironman carpet, it stopped being about proving whether I could complete an Ironman 70.3.
It became about everything that happened along the way. ⏳
Coming from working a student job in a bar three years ago, unhealthy, unhappy and overweight, to standing on the start line of an Ironman 70.3 made me realise that this sport really did change me for the better. And somewhere along the way, in all those hours of training, I found another version of myself. A healthier one. A more patient one. A stronger one. I finally found a version of myself again that I can be proud of. Thank you, Ironman 70.3 Málaga. 🖤🌊 @ironmantrispain

Thank you, @henrikemuehr, for taking on this absolutely delulu project with me. 🥹
I somehow talked you into it, and honestly, partly because I wouldn’t have had the courage to do all of this on my own. And despite having your own wedding and countless other things going on this year, you went through the whole process with me.
You are an absolute mental and physical machine, and you deserve this achievement so, so much! 🧡
Thank you for sharing this adventure with me, and huge congratulations on becoming an Ironwoman 70.3! 🥹🙌🏼

Very quickly after signing up for the Ironman, I realised that I had committed to something I wasn’t actually ready for yet. I only had a few months of unstructured half-marathon training behind me, after a life in which sport had never really played a role. For a long time, I struggled with whether I should go down this road on my own or ask for help. And what can I say? I honestly don’t think I would ever have made it to the start line without you, @coachgraef! 🫶🏽
Not for a second have I regretted taking this journey with your support. And beyond your expertise and the countless training sessions you planned for me, it was above all your experience and who you are as a person that got me through every low and taught me what it actually means to grow as a person through sport.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better coach! 🩵 @rwrkcoaching

Spontan kann ich 😎.

@coachgraef hat uns letzte Woche noch schnell für den 10er angemeldet, weil wir eh gerade in der Steiermark sind. Carmen: Fix 🤝🏼!

Und tadaaa – it was INSANE🔥

Komplett relaxt an den Start, ohne Erwartungen, ohne Druck und einfach schauen, was geht. Und dann? PB 👀🚀

Show up. Stay consistent. Trust the process. @rwrkcoaching 🫶🏼 #grazviertelmarathon#runninggirl#endurancelover#sportcouple#racerecap

T-365 until I will race Kona 🌺

Today it’s exactly 1 year until I will do the most iconic race of our sport: the legendary IRONMAN World Championships in Hawai‘i 🌎

365 days for me and @coachgraef to go to bring me in the best shape of my life and @rwrkcoaching back to the island 🏝️

Goodluck to everyone racing tomorrow. Maybe I’ll meet some of you next year on Big Island 💪🏼

Just a casual 10k… SWIM 🏊🏼‍♂️

It was time to do a 10k swim again. Extra challenge: NO gadgets at all. Only supported by Haribo and Nutella cookies.

Did 5x1k followed by 10x500m. First half I did with 1:39 avg pace, had to slow down a little in the second half, ended up with a 1:41 avg, which makes me happy, considering no gadgets used and the long intervals I did.

No power without energy. I consumed between 400-500g carbs. And retrospectively, I could have consumed even more. So be aware to eat enough, also while swimming. Your engine needs proper fueling.

Great effort by @katharina.marleen who joined me for the full 10k. @janratay joined us for the first 4k and brought some extra good vibes. Grateful to have so many crazy people around me.

Hope to improve my swimming until next season. Lots of work ahead 🦭
