Congratulations to the International Swimming Hall of Fame’s newest inductee, Coach Stephen “Sid” Cassidy, whose remarkable career in our sport spans roles as an athlete, coach, visionary, and architect of Olympic open-water swimming.

From helping make the 10K Marathon Swimming an Olympic event to mentoring generations of athletes, Sid’s impact extends far beyond the pool, and if you know him, you understand how much fun he brings to the deck! Always quick to celebrate other coaches, or share a hilarious story, Sid’s personality brings color to the coaching profession.

At Fitter & Faster, we’re proud of our partnership with the International Swimming Hall of Fame, as it’s all about keeping these inspiring stories alive. When young swimmers learn about the roots and shoulders they stand on, they don’t just gain perspective; they find purpose.

The history of our sport isn’t just something to remember with reverence; it serves as a source of inspiration, encouraging the next generation of athletes and coaches to create their own exciting chapters.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend! 💙

We love celebrating Coach Sid Cassidy—not only an incredible father and husband, but also a dedicated coach, mentor, and lifelong advocate for water safety.

For decades, Sid has helped thousands of swimmers build confidence in the water, from their very first swim lesson at Florida Swim School to our Saint Andrew’s Aquatics competitive feeder program. His passion for teaching, patience with every swimmer, and commitment to helping children succeed continue to inspire our entire community.

We’re also grateful for Kara Cassidy and the entire Cassidy family, whose dedication has helped make Florida Swim School a place where families grow stronger together, both in and out of the pool.

Happy belated Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandfathers, coaches, and father figures. Thank you for encouraging, protecting, and believing in the next generation every single day. 💙🏊

Sid Cassidy helped change the sport of swimming forever by bringing Open Water Swimming to the Olympics, and this weekend he was officially inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as a contributor to the sport. 🏊‍♂️🏅

Beyond his impact on Olympic swimming, Coach Sid Cassidy continues to mentor young athletes through Saint Andrews Aquatics, the competitive swim team and feeder program connected to Florida Swim School in Boca Raton.

And somehow, after all of those accomplishments… he still gave us one of the funniest and most wholesome moments of the night 😂❤️

This is what makes the swimming community so special — legendary coaches, lifelong dedication to water safety and competitive swimming, and people who never stop being themselves.

So proud to be part of something bigger! 💙

On April 18th at The Boca Raton, our founder Kara Cassidy and her husband Sid Cassidy joined the Blue Jean BFF Bash supporting the Best Foot Forward Foundation.

“It’s always about the kids” — and we’re honored to help make a difference by providing free swim lessons for BFF children 🏊‍♀️

We also loved putting together a silent auction basket filled with swim goodies + lessons to support this incredible cause.
Thank you to Best Foot Forward for everything you do to create brighter futures 💙

🌊🏊‍♂️ Sid Cassidy Open Water 3K Knockout – What a Race! 💙

Huge performances by our Azura swimmers this past weekend at the Sid Cassidy Open Water 3K Knockout: gritty racing, smart tactics, and true open-water heart.

🥇 Lev Cherepanov took the win with an impressive performance
🥈 Maximiliano “Maxi” Paccot finished 2nd overall with a strong, composed race
🔥 Dilanka Sheehan battled it out to a 4th place overall finish
👏 Army Pal gave his best and was a top 12 finisher

So proud of how our athletes represented Azura in a demanding, fast-paced open water format. These races build toughness, awareness, and confidence that translate directly back into the pool.

🙏 A big thank you to Sid Cassidy @coachsasid and the organizing team for putting together a great event and for continuing to support the open water swimming community. Well organized, great vibe, and a fantastic racing environment for our swimmers.

On to the next challenge.
GO AZURA 💙
