POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I love when things happen to fall on the same day year after year 🫢 which I guess means you know where I’ll be July 2027 …

Such a fun way to look at the way things have changed in just a year ☀️ @dinovalleysp is one of my favorite places to bring the group for a couple reasons. It’s absolutely stunning, and the dogs love the creek after a hike!

But, it’s also the first hike that Divya, Gillian and I all did together - and I think you can see just how special that was in all of the photos. That’s when the DDHC was really born, even if we didn’t officially name I’d for a few more months after that. 🐾

This past year has been the most active, and social year of my life. I’ve met so many incredible people, both on the hikes, and outside of them. I’m on track for nearly 100 hikes before December is up 🥾 and I generally feel better, and more capable of doing the things that I love.

Maybe we should all spend a little more time with the people and dogs we love, outside 🌳

☀️ Summer PSA that I’ve been screaming from the rooftops this past month ☀️

Your dog should be wearing a life vest whenever they’re out on open water. I’ve already heard a handful of stories this season about dogs, and even their humans, needing to be rescued.

Kodi doesn’t *need* a life vest. We actually used to paddle board without one because he’s a strong swimmer with great endurance, so it seemed fine.

But now I choose to put him in one, and I think you should too.

The reality is that you never know when conditions can change, your dog can become exhausted, or an accident can happen. Don’t wait for a scary experience to realize you wish you’d taken that extra precaution.

Enjoy the warm weather and adventures with your pup this summer, but be safe while you’re doing it. 🩵

Want the illusion of curves without sewing curves? You CAN! You can Play with color and value and make scrappy quilt that has “Rings” but NO curve piecing!
What fun! Way to go @cocktailsandthread for making a beautiful Spirited Star Quilt! I love it!
The Spirited Star pattern is in my book “The Quilt Experience” available at VFWquilts.com

Breaking News: You are actually legally allowed to have fun on a weeknight! The adulthood police can't stop you.

I'm so happy I found this dog community in Dallas, now my weeknights can look like this or training our dogs together. Clocking out feels great all the time but there's a extra hit of dopamine in there when you got some fun plans on a random week night with your dogs and some friends 🧡

So don't be afriad to hit up your friend or group chat and just live a little on a weeknight, my soul needed some of this 🧘‍♀️

1 year down, and another on its way 🫢 the #dallasdoghikingclub is not going anywhere! 🐾

Every month we have such a fun group, and every month we have new stories to tell and hear from one another - it’s my favorite day!

Everyone tells you to get a dog because they’ll be your best friend… and they’re right! But just know, your dog can help you meet the rest of your best friends too 🥺

Btw, these hikes are dog friendly, not mandatory! You can totally still join in without your own dog (multiple people have!) and you can leave your dog at home to feel the group out, or if you don’t think they’d manage the crowd well! We’re still soooo happy to meet you!

You guys are the best, happy #nationaltrailsday

Shout out @alltrails for simplifying our lives every month, and making it easier to pivot when needed, we love you! 🥾

I’m so glad mum stepped out of her comfort zone and drove 2 hours away from home to meet up with strangers and go hiking with their pups!

Little did she know, she would meet some of the nicest people and she already knew she would love their fur babies.

Thank you all for making this fun little group who she always looks forward to seeing! @ashroamswild @noah_goldentails @kodithehuskymutt

Happy 1 year anniversary to the Dallas Dog Hiking Club!

This club was my first experience getting involved in the dog community and I really had to step out of my comfort zone but I'm so glad I did. I've made some amazing friends bc of this group and I'm so greatful🥰 Now my weekends are spent exploring new State parks, dog friendly adventures and hiking with my fellow dog loving people!

Thank you @ashroamswild @kodithehuskymutt @noah_goldentails for hosting these hikes and giving us a place to form friendships and community 🫶

We couldn’t let any more time go by without sharing all the fun we had at the first Dallas Dog Hiking Club group camping trip! This was one of our highlights of April as we spent a weekend with friends camping alongside a beautiful creek ⛺️🏞️

We had some heavy rain the first night and morning which forced us to cancel the planned group hike- but the rest of the trip was absolutely amazing! The dogs played in the river, we cooked together, laughed around the campfire, and @cocktailsandthread guided us through a fun camp craft 🧵

Camping is always better with good friends (& dogs) by your side 🐾
