If your baby seems to have a favorite breast, you’re not alone. 🌸

Sometimes one side just feels easier for baby, whether that’s because of positioning, head and neck mobility, muscle tension, or other factors that can affect how comfortable feeding feels.

And while switching positions can sometimes help in the moment, a persistent preference may be worth exploring a little further.

We asked Dr. Nadia Alborz, DC, IBCLC, founder of @cocoonchiro, to break down why this can happen, what to watch for, and when it may be helpful to bring in additional support.

A few things to remember:

🤍 A one-sided preference is common
🤍 It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong
🤍 Bottle-fed babies can have side preferences, too
🤍 Your lactation consultant and pediatrician can help assess feeding concerns
🤍 An infant-trained provider may also be able to assess movement and tension

And if one breast is getting significantly less stimulation, remember that milk supply responds to how often each breast is emptied, so working with an IBCLC can be especially helpful.

Save this for the next time you find yourself wondering, “Why does my baby only like this side?”

🚨 This might be the one video I’ve made that will save many lives.
When babies have #breathholdingspells it’d not normal and these are two solutions that can truly help.

1️⃣ Get baby checked by a pediatric chiropractor

2️⃣ Check baby’s room, school, bedding, home, for mold.
@moldassessor @moldfinders - not all #moldassessor companies are legit. Most are “clearance” companies.

3️⃣ Remediate or run! And know how to clean well with @microbalancehealth

4️⃣ See a doctor who understands - @taniaash11 and @thedetoxdoc_

Share this now and save lives!

Tomorrow we celebrate International Board Certified Lactation Consultants — the professionals who care for families through feeding challenges, nipple pain, tethered oral tissues, milk supply worries, slow weight gain, pumping struggles, plus all the in between.

Here in Ocala families have access to birth options, but consistent, specialized lactation support is still something many parents have to actively seek out. Even in a growing community like ours, early IBCLC care can be the difference between quitting early or reaching breastfeeding goals.

IBCLC care IMPROVES outcomes.
It protects maternal mental health.
It improves infant growth and feeding function.
It builds confidence.

If you’ve ever worked with an IBCLC, I’d love to hear from you 👇

🗳: What was MOST helpful from your IBCLC?

A) Pain relief + latch help
B) Help with milk supply
C) Oral function / tongue tie support
D) Pumping plan & returning to work
E) Emotional reassurance & confidence
F) I wish I had access but didn’t

Comment below:
What made the biggest difference?
What do you wish more people understood about lactation care?

Breastfeeding is natural. Support is essential.
Let’s advocate for better access, insurance coverage, and early intervention for every family 💜♥️💙🤎
