My latest episode of Design Matters is a conversation with Craig Elimeliah, recorded live at the Clio on Culture conference in New York City. Craig is a creative leader whose work has consistently challenged the boundaries between design, technology, advertising and culture. Over the course of his career, he has helped shape new ways for brands and people to interact, while thinking deeply about how emerging technologies change not only what we make, but how we make it. Today, he is Chief Creative Officer of Code and Theory, where he continues to explore what creativity can become in a rapidly changing technological landscape. We talk about technology, his thoughts on AI and his life as an entrepreneur. Link to listen is in my bio or here: https://tinyurl.com/wcraigdm

The future of creativity isn’t about chasing culture. It’s about seeing the signals early enough to help shape it.

Excited to join Craig Elimeliah at Clios on Culture in NYC to talk about how data, technology, and new creative tools are changing the way ideas move from insight to impact.

The technology matters. But the real opportunity is human: better instincts, stronger teams, braver ideas.

Creativity. Technology. Culture.
That’s where the next chapter gets built.

NYC — see you there. ⚡️

Wow!!! Just wow!
...
None of that happens from a good idea alone.
It happens when design and engineering sit at the same table from day one... when the people writing code and the people shaping the experience are solving the same problem together, not handing work back and forth.
That’s been our model for 25 years!
Design today means building the thing that changes the business, not just making it look good. Proud of this team for proving that again and again.
25 years in. Still building what’s next.

Meet Kai. 🏀✨

In our new animated film, “A Little Play Goes a Long Way,” a simple game of basketball opens the door to an extraordinary world of imagination. It reminds us that what we see on the outside is only one part of a person’s experience.

Every KEEN NY athlete deserves to see themselves represented with care, joy, and possibility. Communication, connection, creativity, and play can look different for everyone, and those differences deserve to be seen and celebrated.

Created in partnership with Code and Theory @codeandtheory, this film offers just a glimpse into the world of KEEN NY. It is only the tip of the iceberg. Every week, KEEN NY programs are filled with magical, imaginative, and creative moments that celebrate the individuality, talents, and rich inner worlds of our athletes.

Watch it with someone you love, share it with your community, and help us build a world where every young person feels seen, valued, and included. 💛

Apple has already made its choice.

Longtime hardware engineering chief John Ternus takes over from Tim Cook on September 1.

Which makes this conversation with Craig Elimeliah rather well timed.

After an extraordinary era of scale and operational excellence, are we about to see product-minded, creative leaders take the top job?

“Change is a creative act.”

And we are undoubtedly in a time of change.

The CCO of Code and Theory thinks TV-first advertising is toxic.

Craig Elimeliah has spent his career across digital, design, technology and advertising. His problem with the traditional agency model is pretty simple.

Brands live across an ecosystem now.

Websites. Apps. Search. Social. Retail. Customer service. Email. AI.

Yet a lot of advertising still starts with the big film and figures out everything else afterwards.

Craig thinks the agency of the future has to work ecosystem first.

He joined Jake Neske and me on Second Wind to talk about where the agency model goes from here.

Full episode at the link in bio.

Bike shorts under suits. Helmets at standing desks. A pitch meeting mid pedal. Welcome to BikeSync. 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♂️ 🚴‍♂️

A fictional company I got to help build with Code and Theory and Amazon Business. It’s corporate culture mashed with bike culture, and played completely straight. Everyone leans in.

The bigger idea: Amazon Business is the inflection point. Chaos becomes clarity once their business solutions are in place, and the camera helps tell that story. Handheld and frantic at the start then composed and controlled once the system kicks in.
