At the beginning of the year I started a journey. I have been waiting most of my life to have friends, a partner, someone else to try new things with. This year I decided I was done waiting and I was going to do things by myself.

It all started with a Vietnamese coffee pop-up here in San Antonio. I DESPISE driving. Especially downtown. And this pop-up was in the depths of downtown. But I love a good Vietnamese coffee, and I had yet to find any in my new home, so I decided this would be it - my first journey outside of my comfort zone.

And it was DELICIOUS. If you haven’t tried @coi.coffee_ yet, you absolutely need to.

Since that first stop, I’ve tried at least 4 other coffee shops in the area, taken a cooking class, attended two concerts, and travelled domestically - all on my own. All things I was waiting for someone else to join in on. Now I no longer hesitate when there’s something I’m interested in attending. I’ve met many great people, and look forward to meeting more!

But Côi will always hold a special place in my heart, because they were (unknowingly) the first step.

Pokemon lovers.. See y'all this Saturday!

Bring your friends and GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!

Important things to know for our pop-up:
✨ For payments, we have Cashapp and Venmo, however I take card payment but with an additional fee and can only take exact cash.
✨ First come, first serve basis so coming early is highly recommended to grab your favorites, however we may need to limit macarons per flavor if we have a long line. Sharing is caring. 🫶🏻
✨ Bring a cooler bag if you don't plan to eat them right away, to keep them cool and in best shape and experience. Keeping them cold is the best texture for our macarons.
✨ Lastly, please be patient with me as I do my best to serve you all! 🫶🏻

THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!

The range. The authenticity. The confidence with which they served these drinks. I was turned on.

Listen, I’m a Vietnamese coffee snob. I absolutely despise most cafés’ attempts at making it because, respectfully, a lot of it tastes like mud (or ultra-sweet milk). 🙂

But everything I tried at @coi.coffee_ , a roving coffee pop-up in San Antonio, was bomb. A banger. An explosion.

From the mainstay menu:

🔸️ Egg Coffee - two words: fuck yeah.

🔸️ Coco Viet Latte - I genuinely do not understand how they made this with oat milk and still got it to taste this rich, creamy, and full-bodied. It drinks like a full-fat Vietnamese coconut latte.

🔸️ Ube Marble - Filipino approved. Ube cream on top + a swirl of actual ube halaya

🔸️ Coco Pandan - I personally wanted the pandan turned up a little more, but still very, very good.

And then the rotating specials, which ended up being my TOP TWO:

🔸️ Black Sesame - that roasted black sesame cream on top sent me directly to heaven.

🔸️ Tac Blossom - jasmine, salted calamansi, salted preserved plum. Dude. I was not prepared for how good this was.

I came in skeptical and left spiritually altered. My life is not the same.
