Positive Lists in Scotland: Why September and December Matter Update

Parliament is back from summer recess, and the clock is now running down. By December, the Scottish Animal Welfare Commission (SAWC) is expected to submit a report to the Scottish Government recommending positive lists a policy that would restrict which animals people in Scotland are allowed to keep. Once that report lands, campaign groups like Don’t Pet Me (backed by the SSPCA, Born Free, and OneKind) will use it as their trump card. We can’t let that be the only voice ministers have heard.

In this 10 minute video I cover

What’s happened over the summer

What’s happening across Europe

Why the “Don’t Pet Me” campaign’s framing doesn’t hold up

Why this affects far more than reptiles

What YOU need to do right now

If you keep any animal that could be labelled “exotic,” this affects you. Please watch to the end, share this with fellow keepers, and get your letter in before Parliament it’s too late.

More to come soon aswell, Definitely some interesting plans in the works 🙌🏻

⚫️🐍🟡🔥 #mangrove time with this stunning, yet fierce species of rear fanged venomous snake which is not medically significant to people. Their colours and their attitude say otherwise when then try to use both to keep preadators away. Let us know what you think of this stunning species❓️🔥🐍💥🙋‍♂️🌏

Come on guys… time to fight the good fight…

This isn’t just about Scotland, it could affect all of us.

These potential changes may impact the future of keeping and enjoying exotic animals, and once it starts there, it could spread. I want my kids to still have the chance to experience these amazing animals when they’re older.

If you care about responsible ownership and protecting that future, please sign the petition. Every voice matters.
