Nothing stalls an estate cleanout like family dynamics.

What seems like completely unhinged behavior is often a fancy procrastination technique.

No one WANTS to do it, but it still has to get done.

Which one of these personalities do you identify with? Let us know in the comments 👇

And if you need a neutral referee to keep things moving, send us a DM—let’s chat.

When you purge a home, you discover how people truly lived their lives.

Stop putting a lid on your own life to appease someone else’s idea of who you should be.

If you find yourself hiding anything, ask yourself: “Who’s going to find it?” and “How should I deal with it now?

Parents spend decades breaking up fights between their kids. But the biggest fight is in the making if you don’t make a plan for your stuff.

As estate transition specialists, we see it all the time. The deepest, most permanent family rifts usually boil down to two things:

1– Bitter arguments over the few items everyone wants.

2– The quiet resentment of the one adult child left to clean up all the junk nobody wants.

In our experience, it always falls on one person’s shoulders.

Leaving a legacy is about more than creating a will or a trust. It’s about having the hard conversations now. Declutter your spaces, talk about what actually holds sentimental value, and clearly designate who gets what.

Don’t let a crisis start the conversation.

There’s really no better feeling than knowing your family is not going to fight over your stuff.

They won’t drown in your generational clutter.

They know what mattered most to you and will cherish it because of the conversations you had and the stories you told.

At the end of the day, it’s just stuff. But that stuff carries a lot of weight if you never deal with it.

Estate cleanouts are hard for even the most tight-knit families. But if you’re dealing with estrangement or difficult family dynamics, it’s absolutely brutal.

If you feel stuck, you’re NOT lazy or broken.

The problem is no one has given you the space to process not only the stuff, but the feelings around the stuff.

We look at it as bringing our family to your family. Sometimes it’s not possible to get everyone to talk on the sofa, but we can still provide a bridge.

We can hold space for you to talk about the feelings you can’t talk about with your family.

Still reeling from the absolute joy that was last week's concert of my songs 'Don't Be So Hard on Yourself' @thegreenroom42

Thanks to everyone who joined in person and on livestream, and of course the amazing cast and band who shared their gifts!

I'll be sharing a bunch of vids from the evening over the next few weeks, but I thought I'd start with the crowd favorite "Alien Baby."

We see this shift with every single client.

As they begin to make the tough choices and confront the heavy “supposed to” energy hiding in their closets, something unlocks. They aren’t just clearing a room; they are discovering the truest version of themselves.

Emotional attachments are formed over a lifetime, and that’s not going to change in a week or even a month.

Decisiveness is like a muscle that takes time to train. And we can be your training partners.

It won’t happen in a weekend.

But we can come alongside you to build emotional resilience step by step, keep the momentum forward, and protect your peace of mind along the way.
