the jewel of this room | Woman at the Piano by Renoir ✨

This was my first art purchase for our home that I scored from @jolie.tte and I immediately knew this oil on board had to be a spotlight. The moss headboard and the art felt like a perfect fit and is my favorite view of our primary bedroom!

as long as you like it and you do it with joy, that’s what it’s really all about 🫶🏼

‼️hot tip: it’s easy to get caught up in trends but at the end of the day, everybody has their own taste. Take time to figure out what speaks to you and your family. Buy slow, design intentionally. What matters most is that you enjoy your own home and memories that you’ll cherish living there!

~ It all started with this local vintage find 🫶🏼

‼️hot tip: vintage stores have one-of-kind treasures of different styles - traditional, mid-century, etc. at such great price points. They also tend to be made of better quality materials and will stand the test of time. So hit up your local stores next time or follow online vintage/thrift stores to find yourself a unique piece.

This beautiful vintage find from @littlevintageatx has become my everyday desk and also managed to find the perfect little mcm tweed chair from @onhsi.studio to go with it 🤎

for what we have is more than enough ✨

Grateful for our family and friends with whom we’ve shared many meals, laughter, stories and games around this table in our humble home (and theirs)!

‼️hot tip for this season: be intentional with seasonal decor! Try to use things that you’ve thrifted, foraged in nature or shop your home. This tablescape was put together with pieces I had collected over time and foraged dried magnolia seed pod which brings me so much joy 🍂

Here are 5 tips for a warm, inviting space 🍂

~ create a rice color palette: using bold deep colors is an effective way to inject warmth into your space. This could be through wallpaper, wall paints, furniture or even accessories such as decor, lamps, art and textiles.

~ add touches of wood: choosing wood furnishings and decor helps to create a cozy room. If you can, paneling is a great way to do this as well.

~ layer textures: pillows, throws and rugs are a great way to mix textures and patterns. In your bedroom, quilts, duvets, shams, etc can all add layers of soft elements.

~ create ambience with lighting: an intimate mood can be achieved by using various sources of lighting (floor lamps, table lamps, sconces) and concentrate on low, warm lighting.

~ accessorize with nature: use plants and flowers to add a natural texture and vibrancy to your room. It’s the easiest way to make a space feel grounding and relaxing.

Pause and look back at how far you’ve come 🫶🏼
There are times when I get caught up in wanting to just tackle those to-do lists and finish decorating a space. In the process of creating our home, I’m learning that it’s important to be patient and trust the process!
