AUGHTS, A RADIO PLAY. Immersive script visualizer now streaming for free/pay-what-you-can (YouTube link in bio.) Watch the first 3 minutes here. Recorded live in New York City, “Aughts” hovers over two forsaken 27-year-olds reuniting the night of a family wedding. Sharp, witty, and unsentimental, their larger-than-life orphaned dreams become the centerpiece of a passionate exorcism about lives not lived when staring down the barrel of the one you do. Aughts was independently produced and published online for free. The best way to support is to please “Like” and “Share” this so more people can discover it. If it moves you, you may leave what you can at CollectiveHammer.com to support our next production. What is “Aughts” as a project? As a story? “Aughts” is a play I wrote and had put in the drawer, but revisited when I had the idea to record it as a “radio play.” The end product is a script visualizer blurs the lines of what we consider a “theatrical” experience. It’s a true, capital-P “Play” in the sense it’s two (primarily) two people in a room having a fiery conversation in real-time. The storytelling is enhanced with score, sound effects, and plotting that elevates the conversation to a full world. This includes my favorite elements of live theater, in manipulating time and space before an audience. I have worked tirelessly to keep those moments, down to a dialogue-less prologue, intact as it would be on the stage, but tuned through sound. As a story, it’s two childhood friends reckoning with their 27th birthdays. Those friends (one a disgraced popstar impossibly trying to reclaim her career; the other a withdrawn college dropout who sees no way out) refuse to believe they’re the ones who had a better a life. As they battle to concede their own failings, they reckon with lives not lived, staring down the barrel of the ones they have. The script visualizer and audio streams on YouTube this Thursday. The Aughts Vlogs Ch. 1: (Some of) the crazy amount of work that has gone into self producing, writing, and directing a radio play in New York City. 8 years in the making, I stopped waiting for permission and decided to bring one of my stories to life in the most theatrical way I can. AUGHTS is a story about turning 27 and outrunning the decade that raised you, defined you, and blocked you. Follow for more. #t#theatred#directorb#broadwayw#writerpproducer

Recent work + life updates 💫 Between freelance creative design projects and launching @legroomshow, it has been a wildly fulfilling couple of months. Celebrating some big wins (!!) and while I can’t share all my client work, I wanted to feature some of my favorite personal projects in addition to my ongoing collaborations at NYU Steinhardt. My inbox is open for some additional client projects this summer, and I’ve been thrilled to working with folks & businesses large and small for both graphic design and marketing strategy. Oh, and THANK YOUU for all the love at Leg Room – each follow/like/share here and on YouTube helps the project immensely (Almost at 500 followers in just 3 months!) our first piece of physical media!! Introducing the Leg Room’s Zine. Vol I, or; “Ambient Anxiety,” is a personal project I assembled over the past 2 weeks while feeling an incessant need to comment on the state of just…everything. I challenged myself to channel that energy in a creative process, and it came out as a part photobook, part poetry, part design Frankenstein’s monster perfectly suited for April 2025. very limited supply; if you would like me to mail you one for free, let me know and I will be distributing as many as I can! ++ did you know you can watch Leg Room on YouTube? and listen on Spotify? omg. get links in bio / legroomshow.com #zine #graphicdesign #podcast #youtuber #artist #Photography

“Dizzy,” an original visual poem. On being gay, 30, and all the pieces of you. Proud to share most personal work yet. words & visuals by Jake Lebowitz for @legroomshow music by @crimusic #poetry #art #lgbt #art #original +++ You’d think I’d be dizzy by now. I haven’t stopped since I was 14. Spinning. Just yearning to move faster. Farther. While fighting to stay still. Harder. Trying to grasp the beam. Remembering fragments of what I’ve seen. These pieces. The one who broke my heart without breaking a sweat. The one who all I wanted to do was be near, with, of them. The one who crushed my spirit, thinking it was there to grab. The one who gave me the first of a thousand nights and then disappeared. The one who had everything to give. To dream. To share. And I couldn’t find it inside me to take. The one who taught me two impossible things— that I could love him, that I could love me. You’d think I’d be dizzy by now. You’d think I’d be deaf by now. The prayers gone unanswered. The fake sighs and white lies. You’d think I’d be blind by now. The spotlight on me casts no shadow. The clarity of the night shows no truth. You’d think every piece would be broken by now. You’d think I’d be me by now. But I think I learn every day. What I realized at 14. What I knew thirty years ago. I’m not just fragments of a life I never saw still. But I’m more me than I’ve ever known what to do with. I don’t feel dizzy at all.
