POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Food is the heart of a wedding day, so we didn't want our couples to wait until theirs to taste it.

Earlier this month we hosted our very first Palate evening. Couples, their families and best friends gathered around one long table, with live music and the bay as the light faded. There were canapés, a family-style dinner and tiramisu to finish.

We started with canapés, moved on to a family-style dinner made for sharing, and finished with petit fours and tiramisu. Between the plates being passed and the sun going down over the bay, we loved hearing your parents and friends talk about your wedding plans, and watching you look around the table at the people you love most.

It was a chance to try the menu, meet our team and start picturing the day together.

They say it takes a village… and the same goes for creating a memorable event! ✨

Behind every beautiful setting is a team of talented people bringing their creativity, experience and expertise together.

It was a pleasure working alongside so many wonderful professionals from Auckland's events industry at the recent Palate evening at Ōrākei Bay.

A lovely reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. 🤍

A big thank you to everyone involved:

Last night, we hosted our annual client, supplier and talent event with the team from @deadlyponies

Founders Liam and Steven gave us a behind-the-scenes look at what they’ve been working on and introduced us to the incredible Mr Hoiho. Inspired by one of the world’s rarest penguin species, each bag is crafted from past-season leather offcuts. I was lucky enough to secure one of the limited-edition 100 pieces, which sold out within a day or two of launch.

Even better, Deadly Ponies raised an incredible $20,000 for Forest & Bird New Zealand.

Liam and Steve also generously donated a $500 Deadly Ponies voucher, won by @samhorsnell from @nzicc Sam went home with two Deadly Ponies pieces last year, and added another to her collection last night!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a lovely evening of conversation, connection - and plenty of fabulous shopping.

Picking a wedding venue off a website is hard. Imagining the food? Even harder. So come and try it.

We've saved you a seat at Palate, our wedding tasting evening, but there are only a few left. Grab a glass when you arrive, wander the rooms, then sit down to a dinner to share and dessert to finish, by our friends at @collectivenz.

Only a few seats left - Sunday 11 October, from 5pm. It's $45 each, so bring your mum, your best mate, or whoever's helping you decide. If you book your wedding with us, we'll take your two tickets off the venue hire.

We'd love to host you 🤍

REAL WEDDING: Desirée + Oliver

"On our first date we said we both love France. Sure enough, a year and a half later, the first country we visited together was France." - Desirée

Their first date lasted six and a half hours at the @aucklandmuseum, in front of Peter the T-Rex, a conversation neither of them wanted to end. It was only later they worked out the city had been trying to introduce them for years: Numberworks as kids, university, the same friends' parties. A dating app finally did what a decade of near-misses couldn't.

They married in the garden at @orakeibayvenue, surrounded by their beautiful guests who'd travelled in from ten countries. Oliver was already in tears before Desirée reached the top of the aisle.

How cool is this? 🍄🎬
Our mushrooms had the honour of being featured at the HBO Max The Last of Us Season 2 launch, where the talented chefs at @collectivenz turned them into these incredible creations.
Safe to say they understood the assignment. 👏
Which dish would you be grabbing first? 👇

REAL WEDDING: Serey & Darshen 🤍

"We lived down the road from each other for years and never crossed paths. It took a mutual friend to finally introduce us, after that, there was no keeping us apart."

Darshen & Serey's beautiful celebrations took place across two venues: a cultural ceremony at @noctonwoolshed, then their Western-style ceremony and reception at @orakeibayvenue, overlooking the Ōrākei basin which happens to be where one of their favourite very first dates took place.

"It was the only venue we both completely agreed on," Serey says. "Warm and relaxed, but still beautiful."
