There’s only so much you can learn from behind a screen.

In this clip from our Finland rally video, Collin talks about the importance of real seat time, especially in rally. Gravel, suspension changes and constantly changing surfaces all give the driver information they need to feel and trust what the car is doing.

That’s a big part of what we’re chasing in the sim. Giving drivers the feedback they need to stay connected to the car, even when they’re not in the real thing.

Watch the full Finland rally video on our YouTube channel. Link in bio.

Earlier this year, me and the boys @driven_dynamix flew out to Finland to meet up with the team @simucube and finally hop back in a rally car again.

Last year, we flew out to Germany to do what very little people had done and took a high downforce prototype car out on the Nordschleife. Extremely blessed and grateful to be apart of a team that continuously pushes the bounds of innovation.

Episode 2 of the series is out now on YouTube

Here are some of my favorite frames and moments

Rallying in Finland with Alex Nankervis, our CEO, Collin Robb, our Head of Motorsports, and Johannes Suomalainen from Simucube.

A few moments from a trip built around partnership, real-world driving, and getting closer to the kind of feedback we work to recreate in the DDX experience.

Big thank you to Johannes and the Simucube team for having us in Finland. 🇫🇮

Collin Robb our head of motorsports and DDX President Russell Nickel were at DirtFish for the DDX Precision install, and naturally, Collin found his way into the driver’s seat.

A big thank you to the DirtFish team for having us, showing us around, and making the whole experience such a good one. We’re excited to have the DDX Precision available to train on at DirtFish.

Read more about the install in the News section on our website.

Tampere, Finland for @simucube Partner Days.
Still taking it all in. The people, the conversations, the hospitality, and the vision for where this industry is going; unbelievable. Honored is an understatement.

A little exploring, a lot of thoughtful engineering, and a reminder that some of the most interesting things are being built quietly.

A quick recap from our trip to England.

Revolution laps, Lotus laps, and a lot of notes. Collin got time in both to bring real car feedback back to the shop and into what we build.

How does the DDX Prime compare to driving a prototype car at the Nurburgring?

Our ultra low latency, high fidelity simulator allowed our team driver, Collin to not only learn the track, but to feel the track throughout his training on the sim.

Driving at a high level, on the worlds most technical track requires a unparalleled level of control and oneness with the car. Drivers must understand the language the car is speaking, through road feedback and ever changing grip levels.
