At State of Our Girls, Kathy D. Lebrón, founder of Comadres Liberadas, led a workshop that invited us to return to the girls we once were. We reflected on our dreams, visions, and needs as children, named the survival roles many of us took on to feel safe and loved, and explored how caregiving is lineage work.

Thank you, Kathy, for creating a space that reminded us that when we tend to our inner girls, we show up differently for the girls in front of us.

How do we take what we’ve heard, felt, and uncovered—and carry it forward? Kathy Lebrón will help us close the day with intention and consider what we take with us when we leave.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re celebrating seven Latina founders from our #WeHearHer Advocacy Council who transformed lived experience into spaces for healing, leadership, creativity, and possibility. 🌺

And as you meet them, we have one ask — pass it on.

Pass it on to the Latina stepping into her next chapter and ready to recognize her experience as one of her greatest strengths.
Pass it on to the woman whose voice deserves more room at the table.
Pass it on to someone doing the brave work of healing without dishonoring where they come from.
Pass it on to the mother or comadre who deserves to be held by the community she helps hold.
Pass it on to the writer in your circle who keeps saying she’ll return to the page someday.
Pass it on to someone who needs proof that grief and becoming can exist in the same story.
Pass it on to the dreamer who’s ready to turn a quiet hope into a visible plan.

Swipe through to meet all seven founders — and then pass the spotlight on. ➡️

Which founder should more people know? Tag a Latina founder in your community below — let’s keep the celebration going. 🌼

$✨{Artist Spotlight 1}✨ Komadre Kathy is a liberation architect, dancer, theater artist, and creatrix learning to weave ancestral practices into her work and serving as a channel for the joy, medicine, and liberation of all peoples. She deeply believes that dance is not something you “do”; it’s how we remember. Kathy’s work bridges the divide between the ancestral, divine, and earthly realms. She cultivates spaces where “many worlds fit” by engaging in matriarchal ways of being, storytelling, ancestral technologies, and practices that regulate our nervous systems so that we can dreamcast alternatives to systems of oppression. Kathy is presenting “Mothering my Lineages” which aims to explore how becoming a mother opens a portal to the sacred dance and rituals that become acts of sanity. We are living under the collapse of an old paradigm and ways of being that pit us against each other in a perpetual state of scarcity, overconsumption, and insanity. Through exploring and remembering our ancestral lineages, we begin to unearth the stories imprinted on and in our bodies so that we may create islands of sanity where love, joy, rebellion, connection, and abundance can reign supreme. Through the blending of Afro-Caribbean and Caribbean Indigenous ritual, theater, and movement, Kathy patches herself and ancestors back to wholeness – healing them, herself, and her audiences. 🎉Come see @comadres_liberadas on April 4th at 6p and/or 8p 🎟️ ticket link in bio$
