🌀POTTERY MARKET ARTIST🌀
Jesse McIver is a ceramicist living and working in Vancouver B.C., on the unceded territories of the səlilwətaɬ, xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, and coast salish peoples. She has been working at VCS for just over a year now!

Jesse enjoys making sculptures, figurines, and functional work. She typically makes animal forms, but often makes more abstract work using simple repetitive elements like spikes, spirals, and smooth rounded textures. Her work takes inspiration from the biological design of aquatic and terrestrial animals. She enjoys abstracting and amplifying features of creatures, and employs ideas like duplication and subtraction of body parts, simplification, and exaggerated proportions. Jesse enjoys sculpting dynamic, carefully thought through objects that bring the viewer a sense of playfulness.

Her ultimate hope is that viewers will feel delighted by her work, and that her work can express her deep appreciation for the world around her.

❤️market with be this Saturday from 12-5pm at 79 w 3rd ave, Vancouver❤️

Meet our team at Vancouver ceramics!

Our hardworking team of artists are pretty cute if I do say so myself🫶🏻

Working in a pottery studio is a dream come true for a lot of us but it’s still hard work - be kind to your local pottery studio staff, they are just kids inside who wanted to grow up and be an artist one day.

They appreciate complements, kindness, and coffee (we don’t have that energy like we used to).

Scroll to the end for vintage Olive 🫒 photos ♥️

Seeing some new faces on my Fire & Grace account, here is a quick intro. My name is Marian and I’m a Canadian Dutchie living in beautiful Vancouver, BC with my family. Fire & Grace Silverworks came into existence three years ago when our chicks were leaving the nest and there was room for a homestudio.

Happy as a clam working away in that studio, my favourite thing is you all coming by and letting me take your picture.

(Oh, and so lucky to have my friend, hair stylist @pjetzer making me look good)
