If you haven’t been to @togahtx yet, WYD?!! Now serving up brunch on the weekends, this definitely needs to be added to your list! I would reorder my exact meal all over again because those Shrimp & Grits?! SENSATIONAL. Easily in my TOP 5 in Houston list. The French Toast? A PERFECT bite. The Tamago Sando, IMMEDIATELY YES!

If you’re into sushi you need to pull up, Happy hour is Tuesday-Friday 4-6pm and Monday is happy hour all day with $5 select handrolls. I came through for Temaki Tuesday with 20% off all handrolls.

Located at 1711 Indiana, Neo launched in summer 2020 as a pop-up above clothing boutique Glass Cypress before becoming one of Houston’s most distinctive Japanese dining experiences.

🏗️ The intimate restaurant has been closed since late 2025 for renovations. When it returns, diners can expect a refreshed space and an evolved take on its intimate omakase format.

@togahtx is a new modern izakaya (small plates & cocktails) spot in Upper Kirby. They’re open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and they also have a happy hour! 🍻

Their menu includes Udon Carbonara 🍜, Wagyu Burger 🍔, Mushroom Don, Suzuki Crudo, Yakitori 🍢, and more!

kira is an intimate japanese-inspired jazz handroll bar in upper kirby area in houston, tx 🎶 🍣 they have a 15-seat counter, dim lighting, and a cozy atmosphere. it’s such a great spot for a date night or even a quick lunch

they’re known for their temaki, donburi bowls, and kakigori. i enjoyed the salmon and ikura bowl, lobster handroll, and the refreshing raspberry kakigori refreshing 🍣🍧 they also have some good happy hour deals throughout the week, including all-day happy hour on mondays!

they’re celebrating their 2nd birthday on august 16th with 20% off all temaki, 25% off wine, sake + beer, $10 cocktails, $25 donburi bowls, and complimentary highballs for every guest 🥂

river oaks happy hour with a japanese twist ✨from the group behind NEO, KIRA & ORU @commahospitality has added @togahtx to their line up of fabulous concepts

I finally made it in to try their happy hour, and the star for me was their Wagyu burger, HALF OFF on the HH 🍔

pair it with one of their Japanese-inspired cocktails, then order a few small plates to share for the table if you love sampling since the menu offers a variety of fun options

🐟 Hamachi Aguachile (not on HH but absolutely worth it)
