It's leaf-peeping season on the Hill as the trees of CHC are starting to show off their beautiful colors.

Andrew Conboy 2018, AKA Andrew The Arborist, stopped by campus to share his expert insights on when to expect some of our favorite campus trees to reach their peak fall foliage (spoiler alert - it's this week!). In addition to his work at Morris Arboretum and as a member of the Chestnut Hill College Alumni Board, Andrew runs his own non-profit, the Community Canopy Project, an organization that helps to remove invasive species, install native plants, and implement restoration strategies in our parks and remaining natural areas while educating the community and inspiring ecological literacy and advocacy.

Andrew has always had a passion for the environment, which he showcased during his time as a student when he helped foster recycling initiatives on campus and served on the Green Team focused on sustainability. We are so proud that he continues his work advocating for our mission of care and concern for the Earth through his viral social media videos and non-profit work, planting trees all across the Greater Philadelphia Area.

Last month we collaborated with @andrew_the_arborist and his nonprofit @communitycanopyproject to bring a native pollinator garden to a park in SE Pennsylvania 🌼

This garden was about 200 sq ft with around 100 plants and with some awesome volunteers, we got everything done, from removing the grass to planting in about 3 hours! 🌱

We are so excited to see this garden grow and provide crucial habitat for pollinators! 🦋🐝
