Spent the day at the @phxart yesterday thanks to @phoenixpubliclibrary culture pass! Did ya know you can get free admission to many museums, galleries, and cultural centers with your library card?! (Check their website for where to snag them) They also have many other resources like menstruation products, nalaxone, free seeds, cold water and electrolytes, and a place to cool off in the summer! I ❤️ the library. Thanks for spending the day with me @morganstclaire 🫶

Meet Brita! ✨ @brita.latona.herbalist is a Clinical Herbalist and Artist in Northern Colorado. Her deep interest and passion is in Intuitive Plant Healing approaches, Ecotherapy, and Nature-Connection practices. She currently works as a Herbalist at @goldenpoppyherbs and teaches community based classes and workshops. Brita enjoys working with clients and teaching from a holistic perspective, using plants as healing allies to aid in achieving balance on physical, spiritual, and emotional levels. 🌱
As an artist, her goal is to utilize the medium of art as a way to inspire people to recognize the inherent significance of our interconnection with the natural world. For Brita, painting is a way to connect to a place that is ancient, a place that connects us to a shared vision. A vision of inter-relationship, and reciprocity between humans, plants and wild spaces.

Join us May 17th for our meetup led by Brita!

PLANTS AND DANCE ✨ join us Saturday to move and dance in community and learn and connect with our dear herbal ally NETTLES.

Plants & Dance is a contemporary movement practice drawing inspiration from the fluidity, strength, and unique growth patterns of plants.
Sophia Eliana invites dancers to embody the intricacies of plants during improvisational scores and choreographic instruction.
Excerpts from plant-related poetry and horticulture studies are woven into Plants & Dance to supplement body and plant explorations.

This class is open to all bodies, genders, and dance backgrounds ✨ it will include dance movements led by @thesophiaeliana as we embody and learn about the beautiful nettles from @talkwildherbs we hope to see you all there for this very special gathering!

Mallow gone wild! The common mallow (Malva neglecta) is so happy right now in Arizona! Have you ever seen these beauties get this large?! These lovely plants are in the marshmallow (Malvaceae) family and can be used as a local analog to marshmallow! These abundant leaves are also a great food source and are rich in vitamins and minerals, as well as mucilage (that gooey texture that is amazing for cooling down and moistening the system). This plant is often referred to as “cheese weed” because of its little fruits that resemble cheese wheels. They are perfect for making your own capers! You can use every part of this plant from the root to the flowers - what’s your favorite way to work with mallow?
