Sunday morning scramble up Tryfan’s North Face 🏔️🔥

We met two fellow hikers who had never tackled Tryfan before, so we convinced them to join us for the full North Ridge experience… and they absolutely smashed it! 👏

One of the best things about being in the mountains is being able to share these experiences with other people. Passing on my knowledge, helping others build confidence, and watching people step outside their comfort zones and push their own limits is such a rewarding feeling.

The mountains have given me so many incredible experiences, and being able to help others experience that same feeling is something I’ll never get tired of.

And seeing those smiles at the bottom made every step, scramble and challenge worth it! 🤘

Here’s to more adventures, more confidence, and more people discovering what they’re capable of! ⛰️

This is what a weekend with Mammut UK looks like!

You don’t just have access to cool kit but some of the best minds and personalities of the outdoors industry 🔥 theres one thing better than having a knowledgeable instructor and that’s having a handful of them and they all know how to have a laugh!

If you’re looking to learn the basics or even add to your already growing pool of skills, give these guys a shout!

Our weekend consisted of top roping, anchor building, scrambling and alpine movement 🙌 but just listing those off feels like I’ve not scratched the surface! The amount we walked away with was invaluable and we will definitely be going out with them again!

It was one of those weekends that I just didn’t want to end!

Had a brilliant time at the @mammut_uk Mountain School Weekender in the Lake District! 🦣⛰️

After two days I came away with more confidence, a whole new set of skills to take into the mountains, a very happy heart and new friends 🙌🏻

To me one of the best things about this weekend was how the sessions were tailored to us with the freedom to ask any question (no matter how basic, specific or random!😂)

It wasn’t a case of turning up and being given a standard lesson. The guides asked: “What do you want to get from this session? What do you want to learn to support your next adventure?”

And honestly, the knowledge and experience of the guides were next level 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

On Day 1 I attended the Climbing session to develop my existing skills and learn new ones 🧗🏼‍♀️

The weather wasn’t on our side 🌧️ but that didn’t stop us getting out! I’d never climbed on such wet and slippy rock before, so it was a great chance to build my confidence. I also got to learn how to build anchors which was a specific skill I wanted to develop ✅

One of the highlights of the day was seeing my friend @_jessiemorts_ climb for the first time! The whole group were so supportive 👏 and we had a lot of FUN!

On Day 2 I attended the Alpine Movement session which was all about learning how to move efficiently and safely through alpine terrain ⛰️

We learnt so much from our guide Robin who was fantastic! From taking coils, rope management, understanding when to use different knots, short-roping and moving together, to abseiling and more.

These are essential skills for me and @active.wroe if we want to open up more possibilities when we next go the the Alps 😁

Mammut mountain weekend - day 2 NAVIGATION & MAP READING SKILLS 🗺️🧭🌦️🥾

We have amazing technology now, that allows us to access routes via apps - but we shouldn’t solely rely on them. 📲 For someone who spends a lot of time hiking and outdoors, I didn’t know how to properly read a map before this weekend😬 and I’ve been caught in a few sticky situations where tech has failed me!

Not only do I now feel confident in navigating on my own, but also know how important is it to be safe! Thanks to the amazing instructors at @mammut_uk 🙌🏼

What an EPIC few days in the Lake District with @mammut_uk 🏔️🦣

One of my favourite things about the outdoors is how quickly it brings people together. Some familiar faces, some completely new ones, all learning and enjoying the same thing!!🫶🏽

Despite the rain and a crippled leg, on the first day we climbed😜 I got to do a ghost trad!! practiced placing gear, some belaying and cheering everyone on!!

For 2nd day, the sun made an appearance and we practiced alpine movement + scrambling with rope, as well as abseiling and building anchors ⚓️ Really cool to learn some more knots ( catch me practicing off the side of my van 🚐)

Huge shoutout to all the instructors, you made the day! ✨

Grateful for the adventures, the people, the laughs and the memories!

Already wishing I could rewind and do it all again… roll on the next one…👀

absolutely insane of a weekend with @mammut_uk mountain school weekender 🦣⁣

from start to finish everything was amazing! the knowledge and passion of the instructors and the whole team was incredible. no questions was a st*pid question. learned so much about different climbing skills and gained more confidence on the rocks + I definitely feel a lot more competent now in map reading and using a compass. ⁣

Was so good to meet some old and new faces and have the best weekend. ⁣

Mammut mountain school weekend- part 1 🧗🏼‍♀️🛘🌧️

WHERE DO I START 😭

@mammut_uk have hosted THE most incredible weekend, being guided and learning from some of the best instructors in the UK, for all things outdoors. The level of skill and knowledge these guys have was incomparable and seriously incredible.

The first day was tackling @honister_slate_mine via ferrata! 🤩 I didn’t realise how terrifying it would be until I was actually doing it. I laughed, cried, screamed, had lots of shaking - but I DID IT! And I’m so proud of my wee self 🥹 a huge shoutout to @sykesmountain for encouraging me and convincing me I could do the hard bits!

What you have created is so special, and such an asset to the outdoor community. I feel so lucky to have been a part of the first one!

Still buzzing from an incredible experience! 🧗‍♀️✨

It’s mad to think that just 48 hours ago I didn’t know any of these amazing people. Today, I’m walking away feeling incredibly grateful for the encouragement, support, laughs, and belief they gave me throughout my first climb.

There were moments when I doubted myself, but this incredible group pushed me, cheered me on, and helped me find the confidence to keep going. It’s amazing how quickly strangers can become a team when you share a challenge like this.

A huge thank you to the Mammut School and their fabulous team of educators for creating such unforgettable experiences over the course of the weekend and for guiding us every step of the way.

Feeling very grateful for the people, the memories, and the reminder that sometimes the best things happen when you step outside your comfort zone❤️
