Meet Jenn and Ed Coleman of Coleman Concierge, the couple behind our latest Accessible North Alabama feature: a Neuro-Diverse Friendly Weekend Itinerary designed with real travelers in mind. 💙

Because every neurodiverse traveler is unique, this isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary. Instead, it thoughtfully considers sensory needs, potential triggers, and flexible options.

📍 Inclusive. Thoughtful. Unforgettable.

@conciergecorner “Columbia, Missouri, is surrounded by three very different state parks.
🌱
In 1961, 9-year-old Carol Stoerker was struck and killed by a car. This tragedy led to a community movement for an area preserved for public use as a safe place to run and play. Six years later, Rock Bridge Memorial State Park was formed to honor young Carol. It was selected because it was one of the most beautiful parcels of land around. For generations, people gathered inside the rock bridge natural shelter to escape the heat and enjoy nature. Now it will be preserved and protected for generations to come.
🌱
The Katy Trail and Finger Lakes, two other state parks, came from a grittier, more industrial background. The Katy Trail is a special parcel of land that runs for large sections along the Missouri River. It's naturally scenic, but in its prior life, it was a railroad right of way. Finger Lakes used to be a coal strip mine. The land was decimated and destroyed when the mining operation ceased. However, with vision and care, the mining cuts turned to paddle trails, and forests grew back to reclaim the mining spoils.
🌱
Each of these parks is special in its own way by preserving the past and growing towards a better future.
🌱
When was the last time you went to a state park?”
