🔥🚒 Fire safety came to life for our second graders when the Concord Fire Department stopped by CCA!

Students got some hands-on
education about fire safety, what to do in case of a fire, and how firefighters help keep our community safe. Of course, a favorite part was getting to climb aboard the fire truck and see everything up close!

A big thank you to the Concord Fire Department for taking the time to visit our students and make learning about fire safety so much fun! ❤️🚒

🚘☕️THE MAIN EVENT🦅

Throwback recap to THE MAIN EVENT presented by Grappone. A great turnout on a not-so-great day showed us who the real ones are.

THANK YOU for showing up, none of this happens without YOU there!

One more massive thank you to @grappone for their enormous support of this event. At its core, Cars & Coffee is about bringing people together through a shared passion for cars-and that aligns perfectly with Grappone’s “Driven by People” philosophy. While the cars are what bring people downtown, it’s the people, relationships, and community that make the event special, rain or shine.

Shoutout to our title sponsors, @capitalcaraudio @_sanelnapa and @1055jyy @thepulseofnh and community sponsors @concordautospa and @northeastdeltadental for making the show possible!

Last but NOT least, Broadway Station 4! Primarily covering the South End, it’s home to the busiest engine in New Hampshire!

What a thrilling day- not only a tour, we joined on an EMS call too. Luckily everyone involved was okay.

Like all the other stations, this crew puts in a lot of work to maintain and improve the firehouse. I was surprised to see only two bays, but the DIY lean-to works to keep the forestry vehicle sheltered. One example of the use for that important truck is when our unhoused neighbors in their encampments (like in the Hall St area) try to stay warm in the winter, they’ll use propane or a campfire. There is risk in that despite the necessity, but our firefighters can use this vehicle to get to the source of the fire.

I cannot thank the officers enough for helping us set up these tours, and the firefighters and EMTs for sharing with us aspects of their work we would otherwise have no idea about. We will never forget this education and have a clear picture now of what the work is like and what the needs are of the department 🔥

Also I forgot to bring this card with me so Broadway if you’re seeing this expect it in the mail soon 😅

Station 5, the Manor, covers Penacook and parts of East Concord, a pretty rural area with fewer hydrants than the rest of the city.

Not pictured, they have ambulance and engine 5, and in reserve they have Tanker 1, Boat 5, and Forestry 5. They also house the Fire Alarm Division (a division of one and his name is Harold Palmer) that also manages Concord’s traffic lights.

This building had cool historical features, and I was so delighted at the display of the old fire alarm boxes. We still have some up in Ward 6!

They’ve put a lot of sweat equity into making the Manor a nice place to be, though it is also from the 1970s and has similar structural issues as the others, it certainly feels like a home. ❤️

This visit was tons of fun and very educational. I was also glad to have the opportunity to thank the guys who responded to a call on Monday involving a friend of mine who needed transport to the ER. They were efficient, professional, and a calming presence during that stressful moment.
