steady poking and playing and still not delving far enough

🖤 @myapapaya2007 had been sharing her art with me for a few years and I’m always impressed at her ability to visualize and express through illustrations, sculptures, and various crafty techniques. I took her to the @atlanta.loves.art event to show her the kinda environments where are can display her art. I wanted her to meet and get some encouragement from other artists.

I never thought I’d be someone who would struggle with alcohol.

I used to think I’d simply “just quit,” when I pictured alcholism from the outside.
Turns out — some struggles carry a weight you don’t understand until it’s yours.

5/1/2026 marked 1 year of sobriety.
One year of choosing myself again.
One year of learning how to live without escaping.
One year of finding peace I thought I had lost for good.

And if you’re fighting something quietly too — you do not have to do it alone. My DMs are always open.

To everyone tagged: in different ways, you helped carry me through this chapter of my life. I’ll never forget that. Thank you, truly. ❤️
