We had such a nice Maine getaway over the long weekend. We stayed in Ogunquit at the lovely @meadowmereresort.

If you’re looking for a quintessential New England coastal fall escape (after South County, RI, of course) with Hallmark movie/Stars Hollow vibes - Southern coastal Maine is it.

Day 1:

First stop: @congdonsdoughnuts for a much needed coffee and a sugar boost. The maple cream filled donut and the maple glazed were the best doughnuts ever.

Then I wanted to hit up @perkinscovebookshop where I found a book called Westerly by a Maine author with a main character named Faye. It was a sign.

Next we explored Perkins Cove where I searched and luckily found a swimsuit (because I forgot mine) so I could go in our heated indoor pool.

Dinner at @nikanosogunquit for excellent Greek food.

Back to the hotel for a cozy fire after a dip in the pool.

Day 2:

Breakfast at @eggandiogunquit - a classic that has been there since 1979 and doesn’t disappoint.

Walked the Marginal Way.

York for the obligatory Nubble Lighthouse visit. Then into town for nostalgic candy shops. Watched the last batch of salt water taffy being made at @goldenrod1896 and got an egg cream to go.

Off to Kennybunkport to wander in and out of one cute shop after another. Stopped for a coffee and visited @lupinebooksmaine where I discovered an illustrated Kittybunkport book perfect for my god daughter for Christmas.

Then @hiddenpond and @earthathiddenpond for cocktails and apps. I have been wanting to check this out for some time. Next time, we will stay there.

Dinner at @angelinas_ogt for italian food. I got their signature dish which is homemade pappardelle with lobster, shrimp & scallops in a creamy sauce. Homemade wild Maine blueberry pie with gelato. 🧑‍🍳

Day 3:

Breakfast at @greenerycafe where hubs got the lobster & brie omelette which was insanely delicious and decadent.

We grabbed an extra coffee at @morningsinparisogt and a selection of croissants for the road.

Time to check out. Very sad but it was now drizzling and we had a long drive ahead and 3 lonely kitties waiting for us. But we did stop in Kittery for some retail therapy before commiting to going home

In the same spot that my father proposed to my mother, I popped the question to the love of my life. Matthew Taylor, you make me feel more loved and alive than I ever thought possible, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I lauhve to lauhve you, darling! Here’s to our next chapter.

JULY 14 Travel day up to campground near Acadia National Park. First, had to try the blueberry fritter @congdonsdoughnuts When we got there we went ahead and went to the park visitor center to get a lay of the land and figure out where we wanted to go. Drove a little of the main loop and caught some highlights before finishing in Bar Harbor (use your best Boston accent - it's too fun no to use it) #rvtravel #rvlife #travelmaine #barharbor #Jacobsen

There and back again!

Back with the crew at @leavittheatre in celebration of Eric and Colleen. What an awesome night! Great crowd.

Set up in the bar this time (nor’easter who?) which gave the whole reception a warm and intimate vibe.

We had hot apple cider as a specialty drink; the perfect complement to the @congdonsdoughnuts dessert buffet.

We really loved being a part of this one and we look forward to coming back!

Cheers, y’all.

Our first day of fall tasted pretty good. 🍂

We started with doughnuts from @congdonsdoughnuts, then spent the afternoon walking around Fort McClary and Fort Foster. Both were gorgeous.

Back home, we made fresh local spaghetti squash for dinner. For dessert, we cooked apple crisp foil packs with the apples we picked at @mcdougal.orchards the other day and spooned them over ice cream. 🍎🍦

Donuts, forts, and a little bit of Maine fall on our plates. 🤎
