Some people become part of a place. JP was part of Callicoon Hills.

We are heartbroken by the sudden passing of Jean Paul “JP” Medina.

JP was a huge part of the history of Callicoon Hills, but his impact reaches far beyond these grounds. Throughout his journey, he touched so many lives with his talent, his passion for hospitality, his generosity, and the way he brought people together.

For those of us who had the privilege of knowing him, working alongside him, sharing a meal with him, or simply being welcomed into his world, JP left an impression that will not be forgotten.

Callicoon Hills holds countless memories of JP within its walls, around its tables, and across this property. We are incredibly grateful that this place can now help hold space for the people who loved him.

On September 8, we will open our doors to JP’s family, friends, colleagues, and community as we gather to celebrate his life and the extraordinary mark he left on so many.

Our hearts are with Sarah, JP’s family, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss.

JP will forever be part of the story of Callicoon Hills. And we will be forever grateful that our story was part of his.

Rest peacefully, JP. 🤍

Bucket list towns in Upstate NY! 🚗📍✅ SAVE and follow @chantillysongs for more New York getaways!

Planning a spring road trip in New York soon? You need to check out Callicoon!

It’s a must-see town in the Catskills, only 2 hours from NYc, and perfect for your next weekend getaway.

Steal this weekend itinerary 👇

🛏️ Check into @callicoonhills (hosted stay) We were in a king suite in the main house and couldn’t have felt more at home

The property has a fire pit, daily s’mores, saunas, and yoga on the weekends (we did it all!)

🥘 Their onsite restaurant @conoverclub has half-off appetizers and well drinks from 4-6 daily. Your perfect girl dinner 💗

🥂 @seminaryhillny is a must for brunch. Floor-to-ceiling windows, cider tastings, and every dish was AMAZING

🍎 @northbranchcidermill is the cutest. Don’t miss their cute gift shop, and grab cider and donuts as well

🍺 Grab drinks at @upward.brewing which has a fireplace, good vibes, and a great beer selection

🍝 We went back to Conover Club for dinner, and all the food was SO GOOD

🏘️ Check out downtown Callicoon, which is the cutest. A few of the spots we checked out-
@callicoonfarmersmarket / @yemallahnaturals
@sprucehomegoods
@callicoonvintage
@thecreekhousegrill

Save this for your next Catskills escape!
