After 10 years of “unexplained infertility”, multiple endometriosis surgeries, painful fertility procedures, herbs, eastern medicine, tracking ovulation, lots of tests, periods of “not trying”, getting a puppy, going on vacations, acupuncture, the “It Starts with the Egg” protocol, clomid, letrozole, IUIs, and 3 rounds of IVF…

The sweetest little fox cub finally joined us earth-side and we couldn’t be more obsessed.

Infertility has been such a brutal and beautiful teacher. It was the medicine needed to refine me as a mother, lead me to process my own childhood hurts, show me how to be grateful for what’s in front of me, and teach me to find freedom in releasing control.
-I am a better human because of it.-

It wouldn’t feel right to mention the arrival of our boy without also sharing that on 11/11 of 2024, we miscarried our baby girl.
She had a name and was deeply loved and wanted.
She remains as our guide - casting her golden hour light onto our family’s story.
In a season where I was hardened and didn’t think I wanted to/could do this anymore, she opened my heart and illuminated the path for her little brother.

Someday I might share what I learned through the experience of knowing and losing her but for now, like her, it stays close to us: a precious thing.

Having my first baby at 21 and having my second at 40 were obviously vastly different experiences.
^Each bittersweet in its own respect, and I’m so grateful for both chapters.

Being on opposite ends of the parenting spectrum by guiding one son out into the world while welcoming in another was definitely interesting, illuminating, and, at times, intense.

What a fleeting thing motherhood can be

What a journey womanhood is

My heart is broken and full at the same time

I feel it all

(Our dear friend Nada sent me the text in this post a couple of hours after the embryo transfer that ultimately resulted in the arrival of our son, unaware of the procedure that took place shortly before her message, or the middle name we had been favoring.
She then wrote the song that is playing as a gift for us. Check out more of her art here: @samssovereignty

As women, we learn early how to carry what no one ever taught us to release.

The trauma, the shame, the expectations, the conditioning — it all settles into the womb space, the place that holds our deepest hurt and our deepest power. And over time, without ever meaning to, we begin to shield ourselves with the weight of it.

We don’t call it protection, but that’s what it is.
The soft belly we suddenly have.
The tension in our hips.
The heaviness in our thighs.
The bloating, the inflammation, the exhaustion.
The shifting hormones.
The cycles that feel unpredictable or painful.

We look in the mirror and say, “This is just what happens when you get older,” or, “This is what happens after having kids,”
not realizing that our bodies have been speaking for us — holding the stories we couldn’t, showing us where we abandoned ourselves to survive.

We call it normal, but it’s really unprocessed pain.
We call it aging, but it’s really armor.
We call it motherhood, but it’s really the residue of everything our womb absorbed because we didn’t have the tools or the safety to release it.

When we start healing the womb space, everything shifts.
The softness becomes strength.
The weight begins to move.
The inflammation eases.
The body unclenches.
We start recognizing ourselves again — not the version shaped by trauma, but the version shaped by truth.

Our bodies were never the problem.
They were messengers, holding on until we were finally ready to let go.

If you’re ready to dive into the magic hidden within the womb space, let’s chat.

xoxo

Loving these glimpses from the yoga retreat Mary hosted at the historic Basin Park Hotel in the charming hill town of Eureka Springs just a few weekends ago. The Basin Park Hotel—and Eureka Springs itself—holds a special place in our hearts as the place we grew up. ✨

We’re now counting down the days to yoga with Mary in Ireland—just 1 spot left! And our Taos retreat this September is officially sold out! How incredible would it be to have two sold-out retreats in our third year of hosting?

Thank you all for being part of this magical, soul-filled journey with us. 💛
Message me if you want to chat about joining or future retreats—we’d love to connect!

Completely immersed in community building at the ripe age of five TJ can mix a mean batch of cob, tell you the ingredients and when it’s done. He is still not a huge fan of putting the cob on the walls unless it involves throwing it. (Which occasionally we allow) I’m so proud to be your mom and watch you learn skills that will hopefully last lifetimes after me, a skill that could become a legacy.
